Product Description Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane delivers his signature boundary-pushing humor in the outrageous comedy-blockbuster critics are calling "hysterically funny!" (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone) John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) is a grown man whose cherished teddy bear came to life as the result of a childhood wishโฆand hasn't left his side since. As outrageous as many of them are in their animated TV show forum, they get a real rundown in Ted, MacFarlane's multi-hyphenate debut in feature films. As the director, producer, cowriter, and voice artist behind the title character, MacFarlane riffs on pop culture, drug culture, religion, sex, bodily functions, and all things '80s with the kind of abandon that borders on offensive to pretty much anyone--if only it all weren't so spot-on funny. Ted is an utterly believable CGI teddy bear who comes to life in the arms of a friendless 8-year-old boy named John, who quickly grows up to be Mark Wahlberg. John has made a wish that the pudgy plush be a friend for forever, a deal that they both hold on to with genuine poignancy as the years roll by. Ted grows right along with John in voice, manner, attitude, and bad habits until they're both unmotivated layabouts who would rather do nothing more than swill beer, smoke dope, and watch the absurdly iconic '80s movie Flash Gordon over and over again to the exclusion of most everything else in life. John has managed to pick up a girlfriend named Lori (Mila Kunis), who somehow tolerates the pair of them--at least for a little while. Eventually she's annoyed enough with John for not putting away his childish things, thoughts, and behaviors that she demands Ted move out and let them move on as adults. Among all the conceits that Ted embraces is the fact that this fully anthropomorphized stuffed bear started life as a global celebrity sensation before everyone forgot about him. Now he's just a blue-collar Boston nobody who sucks on a bong, chases women, and makes dirty jokes at every opportunity while nobody pays attention. This could have been a generic lowbrow buddy movie in the Judd Apatow mold, which might have been a little funny with a human slob in the Ted role. But MacFarlane brings to the remarkably expressive CGI creation an astonishing and often shocking dynamic with his voice characterization and the consistently clever situations, which whiz by in a structure that's pretty similar to an episode of Family Guy. There are frequent non sequitur digressions and offhanded one-liners that MacFarlane could never get away with on TV. But in the raunchy, anything-goes world of Ted it's all fair game. In addition to farts, drugs, bodily functions, and all manner of sexual vulgarity, it's the slams or homages to the 1980s that are the butt of many of the best zingers or recurring jokes. There are several cameo appearances that may make for delighted double takes. And Sam Jones, the star of the ill-fated Flash Gordon, plays a version of himself that makes a running gag all the more ingenious and demonstrates how far MacFarlane will go to bring comedy down to his level of hilarity. Mark Wahlberg should be commended for being game enough to participate and absolutely shows the comedy chops to make his scenes with Ted come alive. Technically the movie is a wonder as the two-foot Ted blends into the real world with complete believability even as he spouts some of the most outrageous dialogue this side of The Hangover. Ted may be an acquired taste for those who have a dislike for MacFarlane's comic sensibility--and there are a lot of people who do. But as a laughable lowbrow adventure that delivers virtually nonstop unexpected laughs with a little heart to back it up, Ted is a surprising comic novelty that may even win over some of the most vituperative MacFarlane haters. --Ted Fry

Omg.. loved the humor!
What great chemistry with Mark Wahlberg and the cast! Heโs such a great actor! I thought the story would be super corny with a stuffed animal..but omg having Seth McFarland do the voice over..dying..the raunchy side comments and humor is where the world was in 2012..no one took it that seriously! Honestly it was real, thatโs what we said back then, and hearing it now is really funny! And the random references/ characters thrown in from comments/actors was hilarious! If you want a chill night and throw out some giggles..this is for you! I donโt know why it took me 13 years to watch this ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ ๐๐ I mean the story line is dumb, but Ted will really make you laugh๐๐๐ผโโ๏ธ

Bruin Bromance
This was one of my favorite films this year. It is both side-splittingly funny and rather heart-warming as well. In short, Ted will make you laugh and cry.The good news here is that this DVD is fully loaded -- it contains the theatrical version of the film, an unrated version with an additional six minutes of ursine misbehavior, a funny gag reel, various making-of featurettes, and a director's commentary. All the stuff too many movie companies have been reserving only for BluRay, when we KNOW many of these features will fit on a DVD as well!Special shout-outs must go to Ted himself, a sweet-looking Teddy who comes to life at a little boy's wish and matures into a raunchy, pot-smoking, beer-guzzling, ho-hiring roommate for the boy, now a man, Bostonite John Bennett, played by Mark Wahlberg. Wahlberg and Mila Kunis must be singled out for special praise as well, as they respond to the outrageous bear as though he is as real as rain. They sell the effect. And indeed, as voiced and motion-captured by the director and writer Seth McFarlane, Ted is an entirely credible and show-stealing performer in every shot and scene.Further kudos go to Giovanni Ribisi as a nutty father who is determined to bearnap Ted for his Puggsley-like son to play with and deliver painful "ouches" to.At any rate, if you want to see a very different kind of bromance movie, you should definitely check out this R-rated bear. And if you like the movie, you will assuredly want the DVD, both for the extras and the many gut-busting comedic lines you didn't hear among all the mayhem the first or even second times around.Four paws up!

This is one of those movies you will either love or hate.
I purchased this movie because what could be funnier than a rude and raunchy talking teddy bear ?I really liked this movie, I guess because it is a guy thing. The story revolves around a child (Wahlberg) who gets a teddy bear for Christmas. He makes a wish that the bear comes alive since he did not have many friends. Move ahead 20 years and Wahlberg is grown with a grown teddy bear living with him. Ted cusses , drinks beer, and is quite the ladies man. It boils down to Wahlberg having to decide between his new girlfriend or his best friend, the crude and rude party boy teddy bear,Ted.Not to spoil this, but it all works out for them both in the end. This movie is quite hilarious at times, but it definitely is not for kids. There is a large amount of profanity, from Ted of course, and some scenes that are not kid friendly. This reminds me of the eighties film, Howard the Duck, in some ways, but it is a whole lot funnier. My better half mostly hated this film and thought it was silly, but sometimes you need a little silliness in your life. I hope they do make a Ted 2. I also think Mark Wahlberg is a great actor and brings life to just about everything I have ever seen him star in.

I JUST WANNA BE YOUR TEDDY BEAR
(That Headlines JUST a LIL joke) Honestly, and honestly I DIDN'T think I'd like his movie; so then WHY did I give it 5 stars? Well I was bored last night, and I watched a movie Review of it.......(a more detailed version then the trailer (which is All I've heard.....busy with Halloween Wedding Plans......and it sounded REALLY funny....(Now this movie reviewer NOT one of my friends though, but nothing against them! And this was COMPLETELY different from what I thought; even having a bear that looks like him (he's not OFFICIAL though, he's one I got just for fun, cause I thought he was a cutie last month. And YES that's 1 of the reasons I wanted to see this movie (but I'm getting married, and I'm a kid at heart!) I actually liked Peter Griffin's voice for the bear (it fit Real well) and I guessed the ending.....knowing how Marky Mark (Yes I KNOW his REAL name, but come on! ) And Mila Kunis would all be a family (I like guessing movie endings) But I NEVER would've guessed that she Would've wished for him back; and This worked great cause she wanted her life back. (And ever since Highschool, the only way for me to live MINE is with my Fiance......Love you Babe!!! I also wouldn't have guessed the Subplot with the kid and his son who was trying to Create they're own Teddy Bear, You see I Thought (cause it was at the beginning of the movie when EVERYONE knew Teddy could talk.....LOVE that ALONE by the way....cause you NEVER see that in a movie.) But I just thought the kid was like this background character you'd never see again......then he ends up being this brat kid who loses all his weight and ends up being Jacob from TWILIGHT; which I LOVED, cause like I've said TWILIGHT WEDDING; but MAN; does Jacob get on my nerves! Loved when Bella beat him up though, and the movie ending) Okay; now we're back to this one.....it's a PERFECT ending where everyone lives Happily Ever After!

Ted is a great movie (for adults) ๐
This is a great, comedic movie, with just a touch of drama added for good measure. I definately would not let little kids watch this (do not be deceived by the talking, stuffed bear). I'm glad this movie was available and looks great in my blu ray collection.Thank you!
