Very disappointed.
This product has developed a fault at the flow control lever. The plastic securing boss for the flow control lever has become detached rendering the unit useless. It was delivered on the 22/5/21 and failed on 10/6/21.

Broke immediately
Don't buy this cheaply made item, the plastic valve is extremely loose fitting and allows water to spray out the handle. 0 stars

Good equipment. Great for hanging baskets.
Very good, sturdy and robust spray lance. The spray control lever gives good control of spray and feels solid. All good so far. What may be of use to prospective purchasers is a word on the hose connector. Do not use the type which auto shuts off when disconnected. The low water flow through the nozzle allows the auto shut off to partially close so reducing the spray capability. If you use a standard Hozelock type connector it will work fine. I got a new brass hose connector at the same time. Works perfectly, is ideal for hanging baskets as well as general long reach watering and car washing.

Well made and functional.
Bought for reaching flower baskets and my hanging tomatoes, we are very pleased with it.

Build Quality the best
Much better than the Orange ones I normally get. Very well built and very sturdy. Operates through a thumb controlled ball valve, very easy to use and much better than a trigger - and it does not leak. Very good range of different jets and sprays.

Poor build quality, poor service from spear and jackson
Purchased in June for Father's Day, water flow control thumb trigger fell apart within a month of use (2-3 times a week). The item has a 10 year guarantee from Spear and Jackson (or so the packaging boasts), I emailed them and was dismissed, even though I included a link to the Amazon reviews which has other people with the exact same issue. Virtually impossible to speak to a real person at Amazon (and the item was past it's 30 day return window). Threw it away and purchased a Gardenia instead, OK so far......

Quality - Fit for purpose at minimal cost and this item fit that criteria
Excellently made item robust looks good and functions even better everything I come to expect of a long standing Old British Company, quality.

Excellent at first, quickly fell apart
At first, I thought this was the best watering lance I'd ever owned. It was a fraction of the price of a Hozelock one, and seemed very sturdy. The valve took a bit of getting used to with it not being a trigger, but not too much of an issue. However, after only a couple of weeks, it started to leak. Just slight weeping at first, but it got worse until it was a constant stream of drips. Looking back at other reviews, this seems to be a generic issue with the valve.I returned it to Amazon, got a refund and bought a very similar Karcher one instead.
