Does not slip when mounted at an angle
There's not much clearance between my heavy gate and the ground at the low (open) side, and the ground slopes up from there to close the gate. It was easy to mount the wheel at an angle, which I had to do because of the low clearance, but I was afraid the the increasing downward pressure as the gate rolled uphill would cause the wheel mount to slip around the metal bar I attached it to. I needn't have worried. This thing is a beast -- very sturdy, holds tight, and the heavy gate glides uphill to close, no problem. I had previously purchased a different wheel that didn't fit the bar properly, but this wheel was exactly what I needed to clamp onto a 2" diameter round metal tube. I could not be happier.

Excellent addition to field gates
I've bought these for 5 field gates and they work great. Very sturdy construction that does not rust or bend.It gets 4 stars, however, because of the packaging. That box is NOT sturdy enough for the weight of this product. I ordered 2 sets of 2 wheels each. On pair arrived in a destroyed box that someone at Amazon had the presence of mind to slip into one of their heavy plastic pouches to make the journey. The second pair never arrived (the cryptic shipping status updates indicated it probably didn't survive the trip and was returned in transit). Got a refund and reordered. The third pair arrived in a box that was barely intact enough to contain the parts. It made it...just barely.So, don't be too upset if it takes a couple of tries to get what you ordered. Or, don't set aside the time to install these until they actually arrive.
