Quality
Very big ship , I built the 1.350 scale uss missouri which unfortunately took 5yrs to build and paint , hopefully won't be aslong, looks fantastic in the box , very good detail indeed , iv soldered all the led lights in , then took out the leds that had the resisters on , replaced them with leds from amazon that hat each resister already soldered in and heat shrink attached, far neater option and less chance of L and N touching, once the hot glue has cooled it moved resisters and I had take apart , make sure you have plenty of room when building .

Very expensive, but worth it.
Very big and very well detailed kit. It measures at 1.3 metres (55 inches) long from bow to stern. 6 sheets of PE parts for railings stairs etc. highly recommend this kit to anyone however, experience in model ship building is a must for this gem of a kit.

Fantastic Kit
Trumpeter have upped their game in recent years and this kit is everything all the other reviewers say about it. The kit has now been reduced by about £40 ( which will pay for the crew and passenger kit ) so even better. The box should carry a warning advising that you may have to move to a bigger house, it is big very big. As we are now in full lockdown for the fore seeable future this kit has arrived at a goodtime. I would estimate 6 months for the average build time.. It has been a slow build due to other projects, one bad item in this kit is the two masts, they are two frail especially if you want to put the radio aerials and the mast rigging. these items are not shown in the instructions for the simple reason that its impossible to do using the plastic ones supplied. One solution is to buy the after market kit which is very expensive. I have found a simple inexpensive solution, buy a pack of brass tubes 200mm in length which is 6 pieces 2mm-3mm-4mm-5mm-6mm& 7mm. the wall thickness is .5mm which means each tube fits perfectly inside each other. I bought a pack of 1mm solid brass rod for the top of each mast. with these items you can make both masts less than £20. you do not use the 6&7mm tubes. These items are available from Amazon 24hrs delivery. I HOPE THIS HELPS ANYONE AOUT TO BUILD THIS GREAT MODEL.

Wow!
Ok, this is a huge model!. It is not for the inexperienced modeller. Usually, models have a paint guide running through the instructions. This model doesn't!. You will need to do some research. There are no rigging points or rigging instructions either. Half the fun is putting modelling experience to good use. If you want everything handed to you on a plate, don't buy it. There are add-to be had, like wooden decks, more PE etc, but the cost sky rockets!. Out of the box, a superb model is still possible as long as you do the research and apply all your skills. Not for the feint-hearted and expect 6-8 months of hard, meticulous graft. As a side note. Don't be fooled into getting brass masts so you can tension the rigging. If it is bent by accident, it is ruined!. The supplied plastic ones will be fine as long as the rigging is tensioned from all directions properly and is much more forgiving from an accidental brush with a hand.. (I write from experience!) Happy modelling!.
