The Holy Science Paperback – August 14, 2019

This books lays out the teachings of Jesus and Patanjali’s as to how to become enlightened essentially. Really well done.

I have followed my guru Paramahansa Yogananda for 11 years. I read this book once a year and with time is probably one of the simplest books. To overcome your ego.

Although the original work is short, simple and sweet, it does not fail short of deep profoundness. Thus, one must savor each sutra as one contemplates the profound depths of each sentence to integrate the magic hidden within the words. The best way to read this is by allowing time and concentration to reveal the hidden gems.

Some of it was difficult to understand so I will read it again. The quotes were printed small italics which was uncomfortable.

I had already purchased this book in Kindle form but had to have a copy I could hold in my hands. A few things 1. For most, "Autobiography of a Yogi" should be read first; 2. This is not the 1920 "original version" as stated in the description, nor Yogananda's 1949 version. It does have Yogananda's thoughtful changes, as well as parentheticals by the book's printer (I assume), and lastly translates Sri Yukteswar's sanskrit chapter headings - which apparently were not printed until the 1962 edition. And yes, the formatting, at times, leaves a lot to be desired. That said, it is a priceless gem. Much gratitude and peace.

Eloquent tie in between the Bible and yoga. Having studied and practiced both, I very much appreciate this beautiful work by Swami Sri Yukteswar. Blessed be!

And I love the connections that this beautiful yogi introduces to us with such stunning clarityDid you ever notice that Krishna and Christ were both born yogis, both of them knowing their full well their connection to the source of infinite intelligence?Both of them blowing their parents minds and attracting all kinds of loving devotion. They even have nearly the same nameUnfortunately one of them was born in the wrong part of the world for these kind of hi-jinx and paid the price

What's not to like? One of my favorite books. Some typos, but still awesome!
