Solid Drain Auger, good price
Couple tips:Throw away the gloves they pack in, not only are they worthless, they are dangerous. They easily bind in the cable when you are feeding it. YOU DO NOT WANT TO BREAK FINGERS. Use leather palmed work gloves.Take it slow. Be aware that as you get to the last 20 feet if cable it tends to bind in the drum, so stop frequently to loosen it.Other than that, worked like a charm and saved me a $350 plumbing visit.

One use and it has paid for itself
Our home is an old cheese factory dating back to the 1890's. The septic system is a complete mystery. No idea where all the lines go and there has to be more than one tank on the property, but we can't find it/them. So we've had some drainage issues, to put it mildly. We had water backing up in a particular floor drain that shares drainage with our kitchen sink and clothes washer. We've had a plumber out to try to work on the drain a few times, but with minimal success. This winter, we resorted to using a "snake" attached to a drill, but it was an exercise in misery, as it wasn't powerful enough nor was the cable long enough to reach the area that slowed down drainage so badly. My husband brought home a $100 model from a local building supply store, but all it had on the end was a coil that was not removable nor could we add a better cutting tool to the end. So, I resorted to Amazon, my favorite source of better options. The Mophorn Drain Cleaner Machine is a beast. Very heavy, so we move it around on a dolly to place it where we need to work with it. Unless you are very strong and agile, I suggest not using it alone, as the cable can get away from you quickly and could honestly take off your hand.It took about 2 hours of work and running different cutters on the end, but we eventually broke through a blockage that has slowed down our drainage for years. The plumber's big machine and the cable and cutter they use was simply too large to get through to the blockage. I believe that the pipes narrow. The machine cost us less than 2 visits from the plumber would and I can't imagine that more visits from him would remove the plug, as the past visits have done very little to help.I honestly hope we never have to use it again, but if we do, I know it will take care of the job.

Dangerous product, watch fingers
My first use the machine twisted around my finger dangerously tight in a flash. Had I not been wearing gloves, it would have seriously crushed my finger. There are no instructions, the "back" and "forward" reads as : CW and CCW. What does this mean? Your guess is as good as mine. I have rented higher end machines for years, I am a landlord, so I know how to use machines that look just like this machine, but it only looks like these other machines. This is not to say this machine isn't useful. It unblocked my renter's plumbing in moments, and I will use it again, will have to use it since I'm now stuck with it, however next time I will take my time to see what CW and CCW does. Even in the metal cage, the cord, which I got the thicker one, is prone to bunch up. And the spinning cage is dangerous if you are not paying attention to clothing, hands or feet or bystanders. The belt is external, and you actually put the belt over the barrel of the machine, which then spins it. And you have to figure that out on your own... Could I recommend this machine, no.... I think you could get the same results from a cheap hand held auger, but this machine gives the impression it is for heavier use, but its either got a learning curve or too dangerous to use for heavy use. For the causal user, this machine sucks!

Works well but extremely dangerous
Third time went to use it today, injured by finger, crushed it in the metal snake, wrapped around my hand. Extreme danger!Second time we used it the cabling escaped the cage when spinning and whacked my leg extremely hard (see pic). Very dangerous. Beyond that it works well and has cleared two clogs, worth the money, saves on plumbing bills. Be sure to use setting "2" not "1" so its wound the correct directly and keep clear, that metal spinning can really whack you.

Product worked great. I used it on two drains. Multiple heads to choose from and easy to change out. The rotation of the drum seemed a little wobbly and I suspect this was from the weight and unevenness of the 50 foot 3/8" snake it contained rotating around in the small barrel it was housed in. It was not as sturdy as the equivalent rentals, but it will have paid for itself in dollars in just a few more uses. The convenience of not having to go back and forth to the rental store is priceless. If I called roto-rooter it would have cost me the price of the equipment and then some with one plugged drain.

Works as advertised
Bought this to clear out the underground pipes that are connected to my rain gutters. They are blocked by tree roots. This thing seems effective if not dangerous. The included gloves saved me from what would have been some bad damage to my hands and fingers. The gloves are really only single use as they both tore. It struggled to clear out the 4" pipes of roots and i think I just need to buy specialized cutting blade. Not sure if I actually cleared them until we get a heavy rain when they normally overflow. Too much pipe to try to test with a garden hose. The key is to go slow and don't force it and it won't kink up as often. It reminds me of something from the days before safety guards were standard which is fine, just pay attention and keep your hands away and unplug it when you have to reach in and unkink the snake.

Great value
Good equipment for the price. Did what I needed. Don’t wear the gloves because they get twisted in the snake too easily.
