Stabilization is AMAZING! Zero gimbal needed.
Amazing product. Slight learning curve from Hero 7 and 5. The ability to use as a hero8 or 7 with either lens is appealing. The 360 capabilities are years ahead of its time. Reframing software by GoPro available on Mac and mobile. GoPro is developing and testing the Windows 360 software as of the time of this review. Lastly the horizon lock capability creates next level stabilization without the need for a gimbal.

Will not overheat and freeze like insta 360 one R twin edition
I bought the brand new instant 360 one R twin edition in January 10 , 2020 and had returned it once and bought a second one for my girlfriend. Both the new exchange camera and the new camera for my girlfriend were defective right out of the box i have videos for each camera messing up even with the new firmware. I finally got my money back in June 2020 from insta 360 since then I've been using the 360 max and its easy high quality never messed up once 100% reliability best 360 camera out there its your backbone in any production. Plus I use it as a dash cam with an external battery for my car and motorcycle and leave the camera running for 8 hours in the car on external battery great 360 security camera for your car or any property. Super easy super fun. Way better and will never freeze and overheat like insta360 one r twin edition believe me I've had 3 of them they all over heated even with new firmware.

Good camera that will hopefully be great with some future firmware updates.
I got this camera to replace a DJI Osmo Pocket and a GoPro Hero5 Session. The main selling point for me was the supposed "Shotgun" microphone quality of the audio. While the audio is better than pretty much any built in microphone on other cameras, it doesn't actually live up to the marketing speak. The 360 footage looks good and is easy to edit from a mobile device. I can't speak to how easy it is to edit on a computer, but I can tell you that the footage is rendered in the camera, so it will be ready to go once you pull the clips into an editor.Build quality is typical, solid GoPro and it should survive any adventures you take it on. You will want to take a bit of care with the lenses as they do extend beyond the case. GoPro thoughtfully includes covers to keep the lenses protected.Right now there is no slow motion in 360 mode, and barely there slow motion in Hero mode. I suspect future firmware updates will open up a few more modes. Finally, the touchscreen is fantastic. It's easy to use, bright, and responsive. This is not only a great 360 camera, but a very good vlogging/action camera.

Amazing quality and stabilization
Great looking 360 footage and stabilization. I have a 4K edit driving over the Salt Flats over on YouTube under the FreeWheel channel ( make sure to select the 4K option in your YouTube settings if its not preselected ). It was all shot handheld out the sunroof using the flat color profile at -1 stop and 24fps.Color and editing was done in HitFilm Pro. Still surprised at how well the stabilization worked. The beta GoPro Windows software worked flawlessly in converting the 360 footage to ProRes on a dell laptop. The touchscreen becomes intuitive over time, but controlling the camera through the iOS app is even easier.

Amazing 360 Camera!
Love using this when I go on trips. You are always sure to catch a good angle of whatever you're doing and the transitions to interest points is fun.

Horrible for use in Water
I bought the gopro 360 for skydiving and scuba diving. It’s ok for skydiving if you want to film yourself and don’t mind the distortion (fish eye effect) caused by close up filming. As a designated scuba camera it is HORRIBLE. Do not listen to anything different. If the water is not crystal clear with a lot of light you’ll regret it. The concave lens causes distortion which is amplified by water refraction. Also the gopro 360 suffers greatly in low light conditions which are encountered at moderate depths when scuba diving. The waterproof housings (third party sellers bc gopro won’t be responsible - if they were to sell their own) for the 360 are these 2 big bubbles to compensate for the concave lens. These bubbles typically will get condensation in them (although it has protected the camera). That also ruins your picture. I made a freedive in a spring down to 90 ft and I was happy enough with the video footage. I’ve made countless videos spearfishing in the ocean that are absolute garbage for the reasons listed above. Social media viewers have not been kind when I’ve attempted to post content when I know I shouldn’t. “Your camera sucks” is the most common comment I get and they think it’s a cheap camera. I called gopro tech support to complain and they stand by their stance that it’s a great underwater camera. It’s not trust me. I’m looking at dumping it for what I can get $, and trying another go pro model or something different altogether. Just downloaded video from my latest dive and deleted everything after viewing once again horrible footage

BF loves it
My bf loves the 360 function. He already has a Gopro 360 camera but the lens got scratched and he can’t find any replacement parts for it. As far as the hero function he prefers the Gopro 8 I got him for his birthday, better FPS
