RawlingsCoolflo Batting Helmet

My daughter played t-ball this year, and at her first practice they passed the same two helmets around through all the kids. I was shuddering thinking "lice" the entire time. I immediately went home and ordered this helmet. I chose this Rawlings helmet based on the apparent quality and low cost. We were not disappointed.I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the helmet was, especially in comparison to the price point of the other options available. The helmet is high quality, and fit my 6 year old's head perfectly. There was some room to grow into it, but not so much that it was too loose. I fully expect the helmet to last through another season for my daughter (softball this time around) and still be in good condition to pass down to my son. This would be a great beginner helmet for someone getting into ball who wants a quality helmet at a low cost.

I was amazed when I opened the package...surely they sent me a product that was greatly superior to what I had ordered. Nope, it was what I ordered. Great finish, incredible padding, a real quality product! I wear a 7 3/8 hat...the helmet info says it fits up to a 7 1/2. It's a snug fit for my head...feels great...feels safe! I think this is a great buy. Can't wait to get to the batting cage to try this one out.

Bought this helmet for my 5.5 year old daughter for her first time playing T-Ball in 2012. The helmet fit a little big on her, but was a better alternative to the smaller T-Ball helmet that was sized 6.25 to 6 7/8. This helmet fits 6.5 to 7.5 and worked out as long as we had the chin strap on. The helmet was easy enough to get on and fit my daughter without a fuss. She gets to wear the same helmet again this year and it seems to fit much better this year. My 4 year old son just tried on this helmet and it was a bit big on him, but the T=ball helmet that is sized smaller was too tight! So we are going to be going with this size helmet as well and using the chin strap. I helped coach my daughter's team last season and and one of my jobs was getting the kids ready to bat. One thing I noticed was the kids like having a comfortable helmet they could get on and off by themselves. I haven't tried any other brands, but Rawlings offers the cheaper helmets for youth. We bought the Cardinal Helmet on this site as it was on sale for less than $12...The cheapest you can find these helmets for. Target sells than for less than $18 and Walmart for less than $19....so I wouldn't pay more than that for these helmets unless you need a specific color. Most teams at this age do not care what color the helmet is. Boys wore all sorts of colors (Red, Black, Blue and two tone colors), 90% of the girls wore Pink, while some wore blue or black. Great Helmet for little ones starting out and the helmet costing $12 to $19 for an average low price, you can't go wrong!!

This is nice, sturdy basic batting helmet. I was unsure on the sizing after reading other reviews and measuring my kids' heads. I have a 4 1/2 year old and 6 1/2 year old with average-sized heads and the helmet fits them both great and isn't too tight or loose. They seem to enjoy wearing the helmets and not find them heavy or annoying and it helps that they come in so many colors. Great purchase!

I have 2 of these helmets, purple & royal blue.My daughter is nearly 12yo & is on the small side, it fits her perfectly without the chin strap.My nearly 5yo son finds it a little big on him, but OK with the chin strap (which was not supplied but I already had one previously).The price was great as living in Australia, we have high priced items when it comes to Softball/ Baseball so we need to look at items in the US.To read people complaining about prices for the sake of a few dollars should not alter the fact that this is a great light weight helmet for kids.The colour choices are great & when coupled with the face guard makes this helmet an excellent choice!

It's fine as a batting helmet, as you would expect from Rawlings. Color doesn't come close to matching what is shown in the photo though. The actual helmet is a dull maroon, not shiny red as displayed in the photos.

This is a nice helmet, with thick padding No pony tail hole though and did not even come close to fitting my 6 year old daughter. I read the reviews of people saying it fit their 6, 7 and 8 years old but no such luck for us.

My 7 year old son loves this batting helmet. It is a little loose on him, but comfortable. It also fits my 9 year old. I think it is a good bet for average sized kids from age about 6-10 or 11 as far as getting the right size. Good value for the money.
