Romabio Masonry Textured, Mineral-Based Masonry Paint for Brick, Stone, Hardie Board, and Stucco, Richmond White, 1L/1QT

I done a lot of research on masonry paint. I wanted and needed to cover the old ugly deep red 70s brick. But I didn't want the look or feel of paint. (Like oil or latex) This brand kept coming up. Finally I ordered a sample (small bucket) and that was all it took. I tried the lime wash first but that just wasn't what I wanted for our house. The paint ... was like wow! It has completely transformed our home. Even our mayor stopped to tell us what a huge difference it made in our neighborhood. I cannot say enough about the coverage and quality of this paint. And the finished look is out of this world.

After doing a lot of research, I found Romabio, which is a non-latex mineral paint especially designed for masonry. Unlike many types of paint, it allows brick to "breathe." I purchased the masonry textured paint in "Silver Lining," which is a very light, neutral gray to cover my un-sexy 1970s-era brick rambler. I quickly found that a roller was nearly useless for applying the first coat, so I painted the majority of the house with a 1.5" sash brush. Yes. I need my head examined. Then, I ordered Romabio's masonry brush, and it went faster. It looks beautiful; much more modern and clean than before. I used 3 four-gallon buckets on a 1600 square foot house. However, if applying with a paint sprayer, you will likely need more. It's very easy to work with and has a beautiful matte finish.

I did a lot of research before attempting this brick facelift. I knew going in, the process would be timely so I wanted to get it done right the first time around. If done correctly and you follow their instructions with prep work, you'll be very pleased. Pros, pros, pros...The main reason I chose this product was for its durability and long lasting features allowing the brick beneath to breathe. I specifically waited at least 6 months from application to verify this product would last. I have had zero issues and expect none for 20+ years. Some light power washing in my future but that's it! I applied this product with a roller(primer first coat) and different sized utility masonry brushes(larger brush for second finishing coat and smaller brush for tougher grout areas). I'm sure you could spray it on but I'm more detailed so I chose the more tedious application process. No primer needed, I applied approximately 2 coats, some areas I came back with a 3rd where my initial primer coat wasn't applied generously. My Wife and I are extremely pleased with the final outcome and my neighbors love it as well(so much so, one of them did something similar). Do yourself a favor and trust me on this one, you won't be disappointed!

Dilution and application went fine, but this product is not nearly dark enough and way too blue. Compare what you see in these photos to the color swatch with the product. It’s not even close. We are trying a German mineral paint next (Beeck).

Fantastic product... terrible color selections.We ordered the silver lining color. I would consider it a cool toned grey, not griege like it claims to be. We ended up purchasing this product from a local paint store and having it tinted to a custom color instead. Pictured is with the silver lining.

I was so glad I researched brick painting before I tackled painting my home. The results were beautiful and the customer service was outstanding. My husband, daughter, son and I painted our home with two coats in about 9 days. I called Romabio and they gave me tips before we began. I would highly recommend this product if you are looking to update your house.

I purchased a 1L product from this company and absolutely LOVED the product. However, when purchasing a larger amount, the product I received had been damaged in shipment and there was product gummed all around the lid and down the sides. The bucket was less than the 2.5L amount listed. I tried to use it, I proceeded with slightly less than the recommended dilution rate to compensate for the lack of useable product, and it was still incredibly thin.Unfortunate shipping situation, but more unfortunately, the company did not resolve this when I reached out to them.
