Pelikan Souverän M600 Fountain Pen, Medium Nib, Black/Green, 1 Each (980029)

This is a really nice fountain pen. I have always liked Pelikan fountain pens and this is my first one from the 600 series. It has a pleasing weight when you put the cap on, indeed, just the right weight and size. The design is simply beautiful, including the engraved dual-colored nib. The classic green/black barrel makes it a true Pelikan (that's how they all used to be in my childhood). It writes very smoothly and evenly. The medium size nib is actually wider than I expected, but I don't mind that. I also have a 200 Tortoiseshell with a medium nib and it is much less wide. Seems the nib width goes up with the numbering :-)All in all, this fountain pen is stylish, classic, and it writes very smoothly without needing any pressure (unlike a ballpoint pen), which means it will prevent you from getting cramps in your hand when you write a lot.UPDATE (April 2015): I visited Germany in March and went into a stationary shop in Frankfurt to see if I could have the small nib. The nice lady exchanged it without any question. Very professional, friendly service. The small nib for the 600 is identical with the medium nib for the 200.

Very nice piston fill fountain pen for the money. I have large hands and the size is fine, especially when posted.

I have an M400 that's a dream to write with. I thought I would be getting a similar experience with this, but attempting to fill this with ink, ran into a massive problem where the piston got stuck. The box itself had ink thumbprints on it. I think this was an attempt to resell a broken pen. Too bad, and I hate to give a bad review on a broken item, but there it is. 0 stars if I could.

Medium nib performs like the bold one.Apart from this it writes fully smooth when holding at a certain angle.Maybe its due to my nib but comparing to my lamy 2000 it isnt better.Good luck.

Smooth as silk. Excellent writing experience! The nib is wet, but not overly so. Cap posts well. Very elegant and classy design.Standard Western Medium nib.Out of my collection of Mont Blanc's, Custom Pilots, Sailors and others, this is my favourite writing instrument.

wonderful pen and fast shipping

PROS:The nib is absolutely perfect. It's nice to look at but more importantly writes with a buttery smoothness. The barrel is slightly translucent too - which is cool. It wrote directly out of the box with no hard starts or skips. I can probably go so far as to say that the nib writes better than some pens that cost twice as much (including some that I have)CONS:It's possible I should've done more research, but I thought I'd done my homework on this pen before I ordered it. The pen is still very diminutive in length - it's smaller than a Parker Sonnet - the girth is good though. Also, it can be uncapped in just under one twist, and I don't like that. I know some people don't like having to rotate the cap several times to remove it but I like to KNOW that my cap isn't coming off. Again, it is small even for someone with average-sized hands; though it will write very comfortably posted. I also agree with another reviewer that the barrel feels like cheap plastic, and I was hoping for more with a pen at this price range.Despite all that it's still inked up and I still like writing with it.
