"know the mysteries...know the Gospel...defend your faith"
The first time I heard our priest say, "If you know the twenty mysteries of the Rosary, you know the Gospel and you can defend your faith," I took heart and started reading everything I came across on that topic. This book is surely among the best!In addition to the wonderful "Biblical Insights" for each mystery, Edward Sri includes discussion on questions and objections raised by "our Protestant brothers and sisters" (my family and friends!), which has helped me so much. One of the highlights of the book, for me, was chapter seven: A Scriptural Rosary. This practice, explained in detail, was entirely new information for me. A sample scriptural rosary for all twenty mysteries is included. Praying the Rosary this way definitely puts the emphasis on the mysteries and is an awesome way to get all that scriptural knowledge of the Gospel firmly planted in the mind. Finally, the Apostolic Letter of John Paul II, 'Rosarium Virginis Mariae', is a very special bonus included as an appendix. Terrific book and a definite must have!

Thoughtfully developed
This book (although I feel as though I should call it a prayer!) reflects upon the scriptural basis of the Hail Mary and the various decades of the Rosary. It is beautifully written, drawing not only on the scriptures but also other writers such as Pope John Paul II.One of the reviews I read when purchasing the book was that I would never pray the Rosary the same way after reading the book and who ever wrote that is right! For anyone who loves Scripture and enjoys reflecting on the mysteries of the Rosary: this is a must read!

Highly recommended!!!
This book really gives you new and profound insights into the mysteries of the Rosary. You will never pray the Rosary the same after reading this book. My prayer time using the Rosary is now so enriched that I recommend this book even if you are not praying the Rosary. If you are not Catholic and are looking for a deeper relationship with Jesus this book is for you. It is an easy read but I bet you will read it slowly to let everything sink in. Very Scriptural. Very deep. Very Jesus.

vunderstanding the rosary
as a child I learn to pray the rosary but it is only recently that I made an effort to pray the rosary as I always thought it was not necessary as Jesus is the only one we need to know love and serve but after glancing through this book I have come to realise how important it is to pray the rosary and how much it relates to accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour, Now that I have a copy of my own I will make sure I read every page.

A great resource on the rosary
This book is an excellent resource on the rosary. It has an apologetic section which answers basic questions on devotion to Mary and the importance of praying the rosary. It also has a meditation on each of the twenty mysteries of the rosary, a scriptural rosary for each set of mysteries and John Paul II's Rosarium Virginis Mariae, in it's entirety. It is an invaluable resource as a source of reflection, and as a jumping off point for the really important part, praying the rosary on your own and coming to your own reflections on each mystery.

History behind rosary excellent; meditations very good
This book gives the reader insights into the history of the Rosary and its prayer uses. The Rosary is one of the best ways to offer honor and glory to Jesus. This book makes clear that Catholics do NOT pray to Mary. She, being the first Christian, is a great model and intercessor. The author presents thorough responses to some of the compaints about the Rosary. This author quotes John Paul II the Great. The Rosary is not a rote response but one of prayerful meditation upon the life of our Lord. Good buy!

This wonderful book is an eye opening experience for me. I have loved the rosary all of my life but this book has given me a deeper understanding and a more spiritual connection to my Lord and Savior. I will encourage everyone to read and study this book. I feel richly blessed to have found it.
