This is a great addition product to use with Dermalogica creams. It will help smooth and heal the skin. My skin is extremely sensitive and dry and aging. I use it anywhere my skin is reacting or in need of healing…… basically all over my face as a daily regimen after applying the cream. I’ve used it on foot callouses, and even on my hands to heal the reactions I have to detergents and caustic sanitizers and soaps (I have serious allergies to a variety of ingredients that result in blistering of my skin). My husband uses it with the Dermalogica cream to help heal his skin cancer scabs following treatment. These are pretty much miracle products for us.

I have bad skin. I know, everyone says that... but I mean it. From age 14 to 22 I had acne and now (at age 28) I still battle pimples, large pores, and oily skin. Plus, I'm allergic to some random synthetic stuff (mostly in shampoos and conditioners) and allergic reactions have made my skin super sensitized. I'd nearly given up on anything that promised to reduce redness AND keep my skin clear. That was until I stumbled upon the UltraCalming line. I honestly believe it will work for most people, especially as I've tried nearly every "adult acne" product at Sephora not to mention the regular brands like Aveeno, Clearasil, and Clean & Clear. If this sounds like you, but you still were having issues (either your skin was breaking out or really irritated), then I'd definitely recommend Dermalogica's UltraCalming line.This anhydrous moisturizer works great, though because of it's nature I tend to only use it in the mornings as a moisturizer and primer. Additionally, while I'm hooked on the Dermalogica Ultracalming Cleanser 16 oz, Ultracalming Mist, Dermalogica UltraCalming Serum Concentrate - 1.7 oz... I feel that the barrier repair is "expendable". That said, I still use it and like it. On the plus side, the barrier repair is lighter than the serum concentrate and will probably become my summer moisturizer. Additionally, it has no noticeable scent.This regimen has cleared up my skin (actually better than I expected considering how gentle the cleanser is) and almost totally evened out my skin tone (nearly ZERO rosacea!). I understand everyone is different and so would recommend purchasing the Dermalogica The Ultra Calming Treatment Kit 5 piece before investing in the full-size products. Or, if you're close to a Dermalogica salon or retailer, they're usually very generous with samples!

My face was irritated with any cream I tried and after that I decided to try dermalogica and this one looked like a perfect product, because I started to think that I lost my skin barrier. And it worked!!! My skin restored with this cream and got so silky. I definitely recommend it! I actually got more stuff from this brand and I’m very happy with it.

I'm 86 years old, not wearing very much makeup these days, and have used Barrier Repair for years. In the past I'd use it after moisturizer and right before applying foundation to give me a smooth silky surface upon which to put my makeup. Now, I still use it before tinted CC cream to give me the same smooth surface prior to applying face powder to try to cover my lines and wrinkles. Would definitely recommend it!

I had an allergic reaction on my eyelids from makeup. My eyelids were red and raw. The first time I used this at night, I felt relief immediately and the rash was significantly better by morning. I had purchased and tried other products, none worked, they were irritating to the skin. Made things worse. This product was expensive but performed so much better than I expected.

I first used Barrier Repair when I purchased the Ultracalming Kit. I highly recommend trying the kit before purchasing any individual products, as some worked better than others for me. I found that I loved the cleanser and Barrier Repair, but the Serum Concentrate made me break out, and the Spray didn't do much for me. At some point I stopped using Barrier Repair, mostly because of the price and the fact that it wasn't moisturizing enough on its own, but my skin was never better than when I was using the Ultracalming products. I have recently been having major problems with breakouts, and decided to splurge and give Barrier Repair another try. I'm so glad I did. I use it over my Vanicream moisturizer and I already see a difference in my skin. My breakouts are mostly gone and I have only been using it for a few days. It really smooths out my skin and blocks any irritants from getting to my very sensitive skin. It really is a lifesaver for red, sensitive skin. Worth every penny!

Should be a part of your beauty regime. Works great to keep oil/moisture in - highly recommend!
