This stuff really works for gophers.
Great all-natural organic gopher repellent. I put in a new fairly large garden area this year and immediate started having damage to my new plants from a few gophers coming in from a nearby neighbor’s field. They were primarily entering under a gate with a cement sidewalk. I used this gopher repellent as directed and eventually drove all the nuisance gophers out of my garden. I ended up treating the entire garden area with another couple of bags and haven’t had any gophers in my growing area since. I’ve even noticed that the digging and over-turning of my plants from the raccoons and possums looking for worms and bugs was reduced in the treated areas. Seems they don’t approve of the smell of the castor oil granules either. You might need several applications of this Victor gopher repellent to get the job done, but it does work and there is very little odor that I can detect. I’ve also put some down in the tunnels leading into the garden before closing them back up. I treated the area where they were entering under the sidewalk by digging a trench where they were starting their tunnels at my property line and treated to a depth of about one foot. No more gophers…. I’m very happy with the results. Expect to buy more than one bag unless you have a small lawn or garden to treat.

It might work.
It did not seem to chase the mole away---but it must be watered in and may take a while for the product to reach the worms the moles may find distasteful. I finally killed the mole by flooding the lawn and stabbing with a pitchfork when it came up for air. Sorry Mr. mole. In an active mole area I find that there is only one mole---not a bunch of them. My yard is small. 50 ft by 30 ft. I'll continue to spread the product granules when it rains again.

It works
I battled moles in our 1 acre yard for years. No matter how many I caught with scissor traps, more would show up from neighboring yards. In the year leading up to using this product I caught a minimum of 2 moles per week and in some cases caught multiple per day. I used a heavy application around the perimeter of our yard in hopes that it would keep new moles from coming in. After a good dose of rain and catching the remaining moles already present the yard, iv had ONE mole in the last year. No exaggeration… from 100+ moles in a year to 1. Bottom line, it works.

Doesn't work.
This is the second time that I have given this product a go. I cannot report anything positive about this item. Not only did I spread it in areas that were already taken over by moles, I also spread it in areas that moles had not yet taken over - unfortunately, this didn't deter them at all. A week later, the entire area I had spread this product, was riddled with mole tunnels and holes.

Great value, keeps moles and gophers away
I have accepted the fact that I will always have gophers and moles pop up in my yard sometimes. I live in a residential neighborhood in California and have a good size yard where I am growing some trees and bushes. Gophers and moles have been creating unsightly mounds and disturbing my plants, so I have tried different things to control them. I have noticed that areas treated with this repellent have fewer gophers. The repellent seems natural and I am not concerned about using it around trees that produce edible gruit. The only drawback of this is that it needs regular application and lots of water.

Seemed to work initially but pricey
It did seem to work initially, but now I swear they eat the stuff. And unfortunately you can’t return empty bags. Also it claims it covers 5-10,000 sq ft (other brand with exact same ingredients and ratios states 5000 sq ft), but that’s misleading as it’s only for one application. Per their instructions, you need four applications each, and also need to repeat every 3 months. Plus I would recommend you go heavier for it to work. (Btw, Scott’s manual handheld crank spreader works well to distribute .)Therefore realistically one large bag will keep less than 1000 sq ft (50’ X 20’) clear of new gopher digging for only a maximum of 3 months. Yearly, that’s a high price for a humane solution. However if you could drive them out of your lawn with increasing coverage area per application, you might be able to set up a perimeter band around your property of high concentration product to keep them out (an underground wall if you will). I tried that but got to the point I was pouring the stuff down the holes and using 3-4 times the recommended amounts (an entire bag in a 20’ by 30’ area), and the next day there was 4 more gopher hills.Unless you have a small yard and garden to protect just temporarily, and don’t mind spending $100s every year, save your money and find another solution.

Well it’s not quick but it’s effective
I have a rental house in the Los Angeles foothills. I had a pretty good gopher infestation tearing up my front lawn.My 10 year tenant moved back to the East Coast so I had some deferred maintenance items to tend to while the unit was vacant,I broadcast this stuff religiously each morning. I went thru 5 bags. Watered it down everyday hoping it would get into the tunnels. Nothing. So I hired a trapper. They caught nothing. I could see the gophers pop their heads up on occasion. Two of them. Continuing to ruin the yard with daily activity. Suddenly, now four months after initial treatment the trapper says no gopher activity. He has caught nothing. There is no new activity. They are gone! I can only attribute it to this castor oil product. So be patient, it works, it just may take several months.
