Great piece of gear 24-600mm equivalent zoom
After using another brand of bridge camera with a 24-600mm 35mm-equivalent zoom lens, I found it didn't produce pictures of good enough quality. I very much like the long zoom feature of the older camera, and after doing a lot of research, decided on this Sony RX10IV. It uses a larger "1 inch" sensor than my other bridge camera and has a great array of features and custom settings. The camera has been out since 2017 or so and the fact that Sony hasn't updated it in this period of time shows that 1) they nailed it the first time, and 2) the camera continues to satisfy users with its performance. The camera will take 24 frames a second while using continuous autofocus and autoexposure. I used it on a soccer match and really appreciated this feature. The only CONs I would mention are a non-fully-articulating LCD screen. It's great for holding the camera high or low while looking at the LCD but not for selfies that a fully articulating screen provides. Also, it's a large camera with a 72mm front lens element. Be sure to put a protective filter on the front of the lens. The menu system, while extremely versatile, is not laid out in an intuitive fashion and requires a learning curve to access everything. Finally, the battery life is not impressive, so I carry a spare battery with me all the time.I recommend this camera for anyone wanting a versatile camera with an outstanding zoom range, all without having to haul around other lenses. Sony offers a 2 year protection plan covering a dropped camera or a soaked one, for a very reasonable price.

my opinion
as professional cinematographer it's an amazing camera, very practical and easy to care, less accessories high resolution result

Amazing little package
I'm a longtime professional Alaska writer/photographer who's looking to lighten up his kit on some trips . This is just an astoundingly good little camera with terriffic sharpness, stabilization, autofocus, processor, and burst speed. Side by side with a full size Nikon with a 70-200 2.8, shooting the same subject, it's hard or impossible to tell the difference. Easy to use and has plenty of quality for its main use for me--magazine shots, full page or smaller. It does go through batteries but easy to have a couple spares. Flat out best compact camera I've ever used, and pretty sweet through its entire giant focal range.

Superb camera - substandard accessory bundle
The camera cannot be beat at this configuration or price point. The off brand batteries included in the bundle began to swell fairly quickly. The "boxed set" of software actually involves only downloads.

Amazing camera for travel
This replaced my Sony A6300. While it is somewhat heavier than the A6300 with shorter zoom, it is lighter than with the 600 mm equivalent lens. The burst speed is amazing! It takes razor sharp bird photos. Not having to change lenses in the field avoids contaminant on the sensor. Perhaps the only deficiency is light sensitivity, but noise reduction in post has gotten very good to overcome this issue. It does take a couple of weeks to learn where things are on this camera to become proficient.

Item came with defective batteries
Be careful. Item came with defective batteries. They were too big for camera, which indicates that they have "blown up." I tried to get new ones and had to return entire item. I then was told i would be compensated in full within 5 days, but now I am told it will be 2 Sept! Do not order a camera from Amazon.

I ended up sending back
Wanted to like this but the image quality was just up to my other cameras so I could not mix in photos and video with them in projects. No problems with the seller or the return. I ended up buying a Sony a6700 and it is fantastic.
