My dogs love this toy!!! I have an Aussie and a terrier mix and at least every morning they play tug of war with this toy. I originally bought this toy at Home Goods and was so worried that I wouldn't be able to find it again, luckily I found it on Amazon for about the same price. It lasts about 3-4 months for very rough play including the terrier mix trying to rip it apart. I say buy it.

Our 8 month old German Shepherd puppy loves stuffed toys, and after swallowing a lot of polyester stuffing from a more fragile toy, enough to warrant a trip to the vet and some x-rays, I wanted something that could stand up to her. The reviews made me think this would do it. Nope.She immediately fell in love with it, and started thrashing it about before settling in to chomp on it. Ten minutes and she had the antennae off. She likely would have swallowed those had I not been present to snatch them away.She always wants me to play with her and her toys, meaning play tug-of-war with them. I held onto one rope leg, she tugged on another leg, and I immediately heard the tearing of some stitching. Another tug and she pulled the leg she was gripping all the way through the toy and out. Now there's a loose leg, and two holes in the toy emitting polyester filling.Waste of money, in my mind. The rope legs need to be anchored inside the toy, knotted with a rope spine, or something. This lasted less than an hour before it ended up in a state that I can't leave it with her.

My friends dog (a chow named Scooby Doo) He loved this toy, my friend replaced it twice a year during Scooby Doo's entire life. We miss Scooby, but this caterpillar will always remind us of our baby and my dog Abbey of her best friend.Don't worry it is pretty durable, but with time all caterpillars shed lol - the feet get torn off, holes appear in the body and stuffing falls out, the rope parts last forever lol.My friend and I could watch him for hours while he played with it and sometimes tore it * and * I spent hours sewing this thing back together, while Scooby watched anxiously to get his favorite toy back,. ven though it was twice his size, sometimes, it is not durable that is sought, but overall interest in a toy that he would never let us throw away, without a replacement. Hope that helps you give it a try.

I have an 80# labradoodle who enjoys swinging around big toys as well as pouncing on them as if they were still alive. Of course he has "killed" this one countless times. He loves the added squeakers, too. It is the cutest darn toy. Not recommended for small dogs since this is a pretty hefty toy in weight. But if you are looking for a large toy for a large dog (which isn't always easy to find), this critter will fit the bill! It is also very durable.

Tough and durable for aggressive chewers? Maybe for a kitten. This toy lasted my dog less than 10 minutes. Withing 20 minutes she had 2 legs torn off, the bell out of the head and stuffing everywhere. Do not buy this for a large dog!! She loved it but destroyed it. I paid for about 10 minutes of fun and 5 minutes of clean up. Don't waste your money.

Not very durable stitching.

My original review had been 5 stars. I'd gotten this in the mail and since one of my dogs (who doesn't play) loved it, I wrote my review within ten minutes. Yes he loved it, but it fell apart quickly. The stuffing wasn't even the biggest problem, (though the other caterpillars I've purchased in pet stores were great with it and this just seemed like choppy work) the biggest problem was the stitching. The thread came undone, and a thin piece of thread, if swallowed can kill your pet by wrapping around the bowels, slicing through. This is a dangerous toy and shouldn't be sold until they have it worked out better. My dogs were swallowing the fabric and getting to the squeakers were too easy. It's in the garbage now. Don't buy this. Believe me when I say that walmart has better toys for $5. That's saying something. And the legs? A hole appeared around each one very quickly. Not worth the life of your pet, not worth the cash.

My dog has had about 20 of these. Every time she gets a new one, she is just as excited as the first one she got. They are beautiful and very well made. The tail has a squeekie in it and the head has a low pitch sound when squeezed and a rattle. If your pet likes stuffed animals, they'll love this. Chloe guarantees it. And if they don't love it, you can send it to her.
