When your life hinges on home security...
Smooth, durable, great color, good items. I bought them because the old hinges were white and all of the other hardware in my first floor was this bronze color. It is hard to find these things at Home Depot or Lowes!

Great ball bearing hinges
The hinges are great. I thought the finish looked a little dull at first but there is a thick coating of oil that you wipe off and they have a very nice finish. The quality is really great. The hole alignment were exact and they easily swapped out with my existing front door hinges. The screws that come with it are way too short. I went to Home Depot and bought a pack of screws for their oiled rubbed hardware and it worked much better ensuring they were long enough to really grab the door frame. So I wouldn't recommend using the screws that come with these. But I would recommend these hinges. My door glides open nice and smooth now and they look great.

Great value for a sturdy ball bearing hinge
The hinges are much better than I expected. They are even better than the more expensive Penrod hinges that I bought elsewhere. Like nearly every ball bearing hinge, the pins are not removable. The bearings are very smooth and came well lubricated. The packaging was a bit flimsy and did come open on one of the sets I ordered.

Great quality hinges functionally and aesthetically
I used these to replace some older noisy hinges on my exterior doors. I installed them three weeks ago, so durability has yet to be seen.Pros:Aesthetically, they match the Schlague aged bronze hardware I recently installed comfortably if not perfectly. The hinges themselves have a heavy, high quality feel to them and the pins removed easily with the usual, standard tools. Once installed, the movement action of the heavy doors was smooth, steady, and completely silent.ConsI couldn't give this five stars because the screws that were provided with the hinges were considerably shorter than both my expectations and the previous hinges had used. I'm not an expert and don't have a long history with door hinge attachment failures, so it is possible these screws are entirely sufficient. However, I wasn't even remotely confident given the weight of exterior doors (primary use of a 4X4 hinge) that these would hold over time, so I felt compelled to buy longer and more sturdy screws from the local hardware store.

NOT real ball bearing hinges - Faulty design!
Upon receiving the hinges, it was clear that a heavy lubricant coated the hinge pin. The ball bearings did not appear to rotate as they should and, when operating the hinge by hand, a slight metal-on-metal sound could be heard. I removed the pin to find that the size of the inner bearing race (inside diameter of the bearing) was significantly larger than the hinge pin. Because of this, the pin does not make contact with the bearing at all (BAD).Since the entire premise behind ball-bearing hinges is that the hinge pin transfers the motion between the two hinge faces through the bearing, these bearings are NOT ball bearing hinges at all. These hinges merely have a heavy coat of lubricant and a couple of incorrectly sized bearings thrown in-line of the hinge pin to provide the appearance of ball bearing hinges. To reiterate, a true ball bearing hinge must transfer the motion between the hinge faces THROUGH the bearing. One hinge face should move with the outer bearing race while the other hinge face should move with the inner bearing race. In order for this to happen, the inner bearing race must be in complete contact with the hinge pin while the outer bearing race is in complete contact with the hinge knuckle (rolled metal where the hinge pin goes through). The bearings installed in these hinges CANNOT move in this way because the hinge pin does not make ANY contact with the inside of the bearing. The outer bearing race is connected to a collar which sits inside of the hinge knuckle. In short, the design is faulty and is being covered up by the heavy lubricant.Do not buy these hinges if you want a ball bearing hinge. Instead either lubricate your existing hinges, or look for a trustworthy source for ball bearing hinges. Unfortunately, I am unaware of a source for true ball bearing hinges.

Pretty good initial impression
Got these for a couple of heavy exterior doors. Installed as expected, no problems. 2 minor things to note. Pins come out but are pretty tight, and the ends are recessed up in the bottom of the hinge a bit. Needed to use a skinny punch and hammer to get up in there to knock them out. Also the bearings felt a little grind-y, but luckily the ball rollers are exposed when the pins are out and I used a plastic syringe to squirt some good grease into each one.

Brass hinge
Appears to be correct hinge dimensions. Problem experienced was the packaging of two per order. Should be a single or three per order
