LIM'S Quick Release Camera Tripod Dovetail Plate for Nikon P1000 P1100

It fits the Nikon P1000 like a glove. I feel very confident my expensive camera will not fall off the tripod. It's very well built, but a little expensive for what it really is.Otherwise it functions exactly as intended, it gives that extra support the Nikon needs when you zoom out while taking photos of the night sky.

I gave everything five stars as far as sturdiness value for the money. I gave four stars for easy to use because it came with no instructions. Takes a few minutes to figure it out. The actual dimensions fit the base of the front of my camera perfectly and the back support came all the way to the camera base and it was wide enough to give it ample support. There are two sets of openings where you can adjust the base of your camera for balance. This is done before it's attached to the tripod. So if the weight is heavy when the lens is extended, you move the base up to balance the camera better rather than have it pull down when it's on a tripod. This item with my manfrotto tripod works just fine. My last tripod without this couldn't handle the weight with the lens extended and I had to tighten the vertical hold to the point where I stripped the screw. So far so good with this item.

Fit securely to Nikon P 1100 works great till you zoom out past 2000 then your camera is still nose heavy the bracket needs to be an inch to an inch and a half longer that should solve the camera. Be a nose heavy.

This certainly does the job. After careful research, a combination of this adapter and a new tripod securely holds my P1000 even when fully extended. For the price, though, it would be nice to be able to fasten the screw with one of those folding metal handles often seen on similar adapters so I don't have to have it attached to my camera all the time (or carry a screwdriver in my bag).

Absolutely helps stabilize it on a tripod. The P1000 is just too front heavy for most tripods when zoomed all the way in, and being able to move the mount point is a game changer. I leave mine on because it fits so perfectly snug on the camera.

This is a must have item that if you do not use and you extend the Nikon p1000 to full focal length on a tripod or monopod the bottom of the camera will break from the weight of the camera, Nikon p1000 weighs 3 pounds and will need support for its lens. This performa and fits nicely and is very good price. Works as it should to support the lens

Though I would expect the shoe a bit longer for the sake of balancing that behemoth 3000 mm when it is fully drawn the quality is fine
