Fringing...
Attached to camera lens and nothing but fringing. Horrible image quality. Its not even worth using for any shots. I did not expect high quality shots but what it produces it fair from even decent ones.

8 lens and its chromatic is pretty blurry. My 17-55 4-5
Its okay. I'm using it with a 24mm 2.8 lens and its chromatic is pretty blurry. My 17-55 4-5.6 58mm works much better than this. It's the same brand.

comparably poor that is
I bought 2 versions of the Xit attachment -- the 52mm for my 40mm f/1.4 and the 58mm for my 50mm f/2.8. The optics on these two attachments are very comparable, comparably poor that is.I've been in the photography business for many years and I've come to the point where I've grown tired of lugging around big, heavy lenses, especially when I'm out hiking. These days I shoot primarily with a 50mm f/1.4 or a 40mm f/2.8 (AKA "pancake lens"). These prime lenses are lightweight, compact, and offer insanely good optics. However, their fixed medium telephoto focal lengths are also rather limiting. Factor in the 1.6 crop factor...Enter this Wide Angle attachment. It converts my 40mm into a 17mm (40 * .43) or a 28mm (40 * .43 * 1.6) if you take the crop factor into consideration. 17mm/28mm is very familiar territory as I've shot with a 17-55mm f/2.8 for many years. The trade-off for the wider focal length is image quality. With the attachment on, the images from the 50mm f/1.4 -- one of Canon's sharpest lenses -- are so degraded they're softer than images from my kit lens (18mm-55mm f/3.5-f/5.6). No, make that much, much softer, especially around the edges and corners. The images are so bad, in fact, I'd say my cell phone produces sharper images. I'm serious. But for what I paid (4.77) I really can't complain -- I GOT what I paid for. And of course I wasn't expecting very much to begin with but I was hoping against hope the image quality would turn out at least half decent.Still, all's not lost. I find that if I heavily sharpen and then re-size my pictures to 1920 x 1080, they actually turn out quite good, good enough in fact for a 300dpi 3 x 5 print. Plus, the 1920 x 1080 resolution make for good desktop wallpaper and the relatively small file size required for that resolution also make it ideal for texting or emailing.---All in all, this attachment is not a total loss. It can come in very handy if you use lenses with a fixed medium telephoto focal length. Just be aware that it will make your images very soft. Not recommended for pixel peepers. Recommended with reservations for the rest of us.

Works like a charm!
I absolutely LOVE the wide angle lens! It gives me just enough extra width on my pictures! I am pleasantly surprised with this! I am using my lens on my Nikon D3100 and it works like a charm!

If you cat buy a real one this will help a little
Come on!This isn't a magic fix that will convert your factory lens into a top of the line wide angle one (It helps a little). Better for outdoor shots . It will not give you what you need in close confined spaces.
