Excellent Cable
Not sure what to say about a Cable, but it does what it is supposed to do and does so very well. Good Quality Cable.

Works with some other Cisco routers too...
I bought this cable on a leap of faith since the description says it was for certain specific Cisco router models, but the ones I needed it for were not listed. The old Cisco-supplied cable assemblies that consist of an RJ45 rolled cable and DB9 adapter worked with all the routers I tried in the past, but I didn't want to assume this one would work since the description made it sound like it would only work with certain models. I can tell you that it definitely works with the Cisco 3600 series of routers, specifically the Cisco 3640. It should also work with the Cisco 2600 series routers and the old Cataylist 1900 and 2900 series ethernet switches, since I've used the same cables for all those in the past. After reading documentation on the Cisco web site, this SHOULD work with ALL Cisco routers that use a rolled console cable.I connected this to a DB9 serial port on a server running FreeBSD and then connected to the console port of the router using minicom, and then I tried it using screen. Specifically "screen /dev/cuad0 9600". Worked great!I haven't gotten it to work with a USB to serial adapter yet but I think that's a driver issue on my end, and will attempt to get that working later. It should work if your adapter works with other serial devices.

Worked With A Fujitsu SPARC Server
I used it with a Fujitsu server until I managed to lock myself out of the console. The cable itself is fine. I still use it for other assorted purposes and it has held up wonderfully. A bit humorously, my cat is NOT attracted to this for chewing like some other cables. I'm not sure if it's a component in certain plastics, the color or what. She only eats white iphone and samsung headphone cables so far.

Cheap and works great
I am a student at ITT and am looking to get my CCNA. I wanted my own cables for our Cisco labs and this works great with the 2800 routers we use in class.I am using a TRENDnet TU-S9 USB to RS-232 adapter with Putty so I can do my labs on my laptop.

Worked Great
Item worked as advertised. I actually needed this to attach my MacBook Pro to a Sun V440 server to access the ALOM and it worked great with a USB-DB9 converter. I would think that this cable will work with any RJ-45 serial management port, not just for Cisco gear.

Great cable
Let me connect to my HP switch, and do basic switch config. Nice construction. good quality cable, and well joined connectors. Looks and feels like it will last a long time.

It does what I wanted it to do - would purchase again.
I needed this for a switch install. I didn't test it out before I got to the site. It worked like a charm - Thank God.

Works perfectly and has a solid construction. Look and feel like the original Cisco cable, just cheaper. Recommended.
