We ordered from Gerbs for Seeds and Dark Chocolate nibs: unsalted, roasted pumpkin seeds, unsalted sunflower kernels, and the nibs. these are extraordinary products compared to what one gets in grocery stores. Online ordering from Gerbs gets the great product with the health food store prices - very competitive w/grocery store prices (if they even carry them!). These products (well, with the exception of the dark chocolate nibs) fit into our category of God's Food! Nut free, low salt, and wonderful taste!!
I have dealt with a peanut and treenut allergy my whole life. It can be hard to find brands that offer healthy options such as seeds. I used to eat David’s sunflower seeds but the salt was just too much!! I went to search for unsalted seeds and came across Gerbs. Then I found that they were free of the top allergens! I was SO excited! They are the best pumpkin seeds I have had and perfect for anyone with allergies! Highly recommend. The reason for the slightly lower rating is due to a recent batch that I received was a little off taste than my previous bags purchased. Hope to have a better tasting batch on the next go round.

Meets my needs
Years ago a slightly older friend of mine ate pumpkin seeds as a supplement to address prostate issues and swore by their effectiveness. I now have the same concerns as I find myself having to get up again and again during the night or sometimes having to "wait for the stream" to happen. My first thought was all pumpkin seeds are the same so I'd just get the most for the cheapest but as a Baha'i I have learned to investigate everything for myself, not just big things like religion and politics but also the food that goes in my body. So, I figured I would check out a few reviews about freshness which led to other things to look for such as where they came from, are they non-GMO, were others happy - and when I finally finished my search, for what I wanted, Gerbs was at the top of the list and... the price though not the cheapest is a best deal for the quality. After receiving them I can attest to the taste and freshness, they are as expected. Hopefully, they'll help do the job I need them for.

Okay, but I shelled about half the bags with a nutcracker -s ame issue with local store (blackish areas)
My first purchases were in shell seeds. I ended up picking through ones that "looked ok" to eat in shell, but ones that had any discoloration on the seed (not sure if toasting stopped mold development or what the blackish areas are) I shelled with a nut cracker. I'd say I ended up shelling about half the bag. I gave three stars because I don't mind shelling, they still tasted good, and the grocery equivalent in my area has the same issues - ones that look "clean" I eat "as is" and I shell the rest to be on the safe side. Knowing this, getting roasted shelled unsalted is a better way to go, but I do like the outer shell as I read it ups the zinc content to eat them whole.Update: Tried lightly sea salted kernals and these had black specs also! But you can't shell them to get rid of it. The unopened bags are going back as defective. Buyer beware. Photos are just a sampling- most of the bag is like this.
