The cable is not long enough to pass through the wall.I have had to fit a joint box which will receive the full force of the weather on the outside of the building.Also it doesn’t look as tidy as the light that I have just replaced, adding extra work which could have been avoided had the cable been a standard length.As an electrician this is working against the 17th edition regulations as I have never seen a cable so short for an outside appliance.

Used this LED floodlight to replace an existing 20 year old 100watt bulb coach lantern so existing mains wiring was already in place.Just needed a weatherproof connection box and cable gland from Screwfix or other source to complete the installation and make good previous drilled holes in the mortar for aesthetics!!You will need screws and rawlplugs too as nothing supplied with the lamp.Best to remove LED lamp bracket for initial assembly to wall as it is almost impossible to screw bracket with the lamp attached!!Far better illumination than I had imagined from such a small unit throwing light well over 10sq metre patio and into the garden!

It's a nice looking unit (as far as floodlights go!) and well built. And then the but - why is it supplied with a cable tail of just 230mm including the stripped outer that cannot be replaced into the unit as it is sealed? Therefore you are likely to need to put in an extra junction box or in line connector to extend the cable which introduces a fault liability into the circuit - just because they are trying to save a few pence by not providing a suitable length of cable on the unit. May be not too bog an issue if installing a light for the first time, but often these lights are to replace an existing unit with a decent cable length on them, Would have been a five star if it had a decent length of cable, but I would advise against buying this item and look for one that has been produced with ease of installation in mind.

Excellent light, however I have no idea what 'no external power supply required' is supposed to mean. a) it doesn't have an internal one, b) it's an outdoor light - how else will you get electricity to it? Also, in order to connect it to the mains cable coming out of the wall, we had to get a separate waterproof outdoor connector to link the existing cable to the sealed unit. I would like more of these but will probably look for a different make which can be wired in to the existing cables directly.

Great little light.I’ve written this because of John, ‘the Electrician’ review above. I’d love to know which reg this is contravening? And why an ‘Electrician’ was working to the 17th edition in 2019?Anyway, this item requires a adaptable box adjacent, I’d recommend a Wiska 206 with a couple of 20mm plastic stuffing glands and three Wago connectors. In the long run this is much better anyway, when a lamp fails it makes replacement a breeze. It’s also how I’d install a pir with the Wiska box also next to it.

I bought this to replace an other LED 150w lamp which developed a fault. I was in two minds as to whether I got the same again or buy this. I am so pleased that I decided on this. It was so simple to install and the output means I do not have to fit another lamp at the end of my garden because this covers it. It is heavy and quite large but wow, what a lamp.

A very good quality light with a strong bracket. This replaced an old halogen floodlight and is definitely brighter and covers a larger area. We can now see all the way to the bottom of the garden at night, approx 70ft.

Previous identical one got water ingress after 12mon but it seems there aren't lots of competitors, so hoping that was just bad luck
