Perfect to attach 1/4"-20 accessories to my lightstand.
It fits perfectly in the narrowest section of my 7" lightstand, allowing me to attach a Pocket Wizard Plus III receiver so I can fire my Alienbees B1600 remotely. All I needed in extras were some washers and a 1/4"-20 button head socket screw - both can be found for a few cents at your local hardware store. I no longer have to worry about my receiver dangling from my strobe, nor the uncertainty that a rubber band or velcro might fail and drop my receiver. It makes for a very heavy duty and stable attachment to the lightstand.

it is SMALL!! maximum for 1/2 in
bought it for a 3/4" tube and it didn't fit. Extremely misleading.
