A Beast out of the box!
Out of the box this thing crushed the games I play at full FPS with max graphics; World of Warcraft, Battlefield, Doom, Star Wars BFII, etc. the screen is amazing, the 1080P looks spectacular with the 15” screen size. It’s a powerful GAMING laptop so it does get warm but nothing different then any others I have had in the past. I bought a nice cooling fan for this one with a nice blue glow to it. I bought my wife one and she does not use the cooling fan and has had no issues, 4 weeks of hardcore playing time. The computer shell looks fabulous and feels solid. The battery is great if you are not killing the CPU and graphics card on a game. Like any other gaming laptop, it eats power, so plug in :)Dollar for dollar this is a nice package for gamers, no regrets on this purchase.

Great purchase!!
Got this when it was on sale. I would like to preface that there are other gaming laptops with better specs for the same price however alienware has always been a trusted brand for me in terms of longevity and reliability so I'd always chance my luck with this brand. Now to the reviewPros-it's very fast, processing speeds are really good. Programs open with little to no delay.-alienware programs can be annoying at times but with this laptop it's pretty good-battery life. Surprisingly for a gaming laptop it can go for 4 hours in heavy use.-charging cord. Those with alienware from before would know the struggle of the cord length but this one is about 10 ft.-weight. I cannot stress enough how much of a difference the weight makes when it comes to a gaming laptop. Like having the option of carrying it around easily is such a plus. I know it may seem weird buying a gaming laptop worrying about weight but trust me it's only a difference you'd notice if you have it-noise. So far the noise isn't noticeable which is good.-aesthetics. It may not be as flashy as the usual alienware but the keyboard and alienware logo is always a plus. And it blends in if you have to use it in a classroom or libaray setting well. Doesn't attract much attention which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you take itCons-Heat. This thing can get hot. I would recommend a cooling fan but the buttons do get hot after about 45 minutes to an hour of heavy gaming.-track pad. It ain't the best and it may annoy you at times. I use a mouse generally but I tried using this track pad and just ended up reverting to a mouse. Don't get me wrong it's good but it can be frustrating at times-charger. It is a bit bulky but that's expected.-windows 10. Always a con, too many baggage of programs.Overall if you can get this for $1000 or under like I did definitely get it. Fully worth the cost and I'm thoroughly impressed and satisfied.

Pretty machine with good power, but noisy
I've had this laptop for a few months now. I love the light weight, the feel of the chassis, and the colorful lit keyboard. I can play games like Sims 4 and Superliminal just fine. I had some issues with the Alienware software and had to reinstall a couple times to get the FX controls working (changing the light colors of the keyboard). Apparently that was a common Alienware issue.Really my only complaint is the noise. The fans sometimes sound like they're revving up for liftoff when I play Sims 4. I can deal with that, since it's not constant and I'd rather the fans be noisy than the computer overheat like my last laptop. There's also a grinding static coming from under the vent at the top of the keyboard. I don't know enough about computers to diagnose what part of its innards are causing it. Until I learn to tune it out, it's really irritating.Overall though, for the price, it's a great laptop.

Update: Not keeping it!
I bought this computer strictly for playing World of Warcraft. When I first downloaded the game, it downloaded to the internal hard drive, so I had to remove it and put it on the SDD. Once I finally was able to play, the game ran super smoothly. Then the next time I booted it, It kept stating that that there was no media present but would load. I contacted Dell and after being on the phone with the tech for over an hour, we fixed that issue. She stated that I would have to contact Microsoft because if I updated my OS with the newest update, I would damage my OS. What??? I bought a brand new computer and I have to contact Microsoft now? I expect to have everything, especially when it comes to the OS already updated or easy to update. The computer does get super hot but that is to be expected with a gaming laptop. I ended up having to buy a fan.The other day, my computer screen started freezing and glitching. I somehow lost the SDD so when I tried to load my game, it stated to download again. After rebooting several times, I found the fix by unplugging the computer from the power cable and rebooting. The SDD reappeared.I will continue to see how it does and will update my review if there are any changes in my thoughts about it.Update: Went from 3 to 1 star. Now the computer keeps locking up every 15 minutes or so. I have to hard boot and now the "no media present" is back. It gets super hot as well. I am returning it before my 30 days is up. I guess I will be going to a competitor and paying for a more expensive one. Sad. Because I heard Alienware was great. But it's not.

Biggest letdown gaming computer!
There’s this continuous lag and he gets cut off in the middle of games! He ends up spending hours upon hours so frustrated and trying to fix! This is supposed to be the ultimate in gaming laptops! I’d be cautious ... look for others before upurchase.
