Venture Alaska Pollock Meal & Pumpkin Limited Ingredient Dry Dog Food

My dog has had itchy skin, ears, and paws for a couple years. The vet said, vaguely, "probably allergies, so hard to diagnose," and blew it off. Not going to her again. I tried all kinds of topical products, but they all were expensive, were sticky and smelly and required being applied often. It was only a bandage solution.So I figured I'd see if it might be something in his food, even though he was eating Blue Buffalo Wilderness, a quality food my cats also love. Well, I did a little research and found out about limited ingredient foods, and searching through this site, I found this food. Actually, I found it on another site, as it didn't come up on any initial search on this site until I put the brand name in specifically! I bet on his problem being chicken, since it's so common an allergen, and got this fish flavor.When I opened the bag, it sure stank of fish! Good, he loves smelly food. He took to it from the first sniff, and I sat back and watched his itching for signs of relief. First, nothing, but slowly, over the course of a month of eating this and NOTHING ELSE, his itching is all but gone! He itches a little in the morning, but only a little. He still licks his paws, but I don't know if it's boredom. No chewing. There's no swelling, bare spots, etc. The last to leave was the itching in his ears, which I had worried was an infection, but after the first month, that, too, receded. It's not guaranteed that his problem is chicken, but as long as this food is available, I'm not feeding him anything else!

I tried everything. Dog still scratched a lot! No more scratching now! The fish is stinky but the dog didn't care. I bought Turkey this time and I hope will have the same result with less smell! LOL

Timing was perfect. I was worried about being at work and the delivery might be while raining. Everything was dry and ant free.

My GSD does very well on this food. It does not give him dry skin or hot spots.

Excellent quality food w good balance of protein for moderately active dogs. Bite is a bit large for my Pomeranian but good for Shelties. This diet was recommended by a breeder who analyzed and compared its ingredients

They ship very, very quickly which was great, but unfortunately it didn't help my dog. We've had a hard time helping her with skin and mast cell tumor issues, as well as stomach gurgles and intermittent vomiting. I've gone back to cooking for her and giving only meat on certain days and fruit/veg on others which has helped the stomach stuff. Just mentioning that in case anyone else is struggling.

I’m not a dog, so I haven’t the faintest idea what it tastes like- but it does smell like a fish market in summer when you open the bag (close the bag! Quickly! Gah). That being said.. my dog has so many issues with so many foods he’s like a diarrhea machine - anyone ever try to pick up diarrhea? It is impossible. Anyway, we tried this and the rabbit formula. His poops are SOLID, and he inhales his food so fast even the slow feeder can’t slow him down, so I’d say he loves it. I’m also less inconvenienced and embarrassed because I’m not smearing poop all over the sidewalk anymore. Oh! And the bag is eco friendly to boot! Yahs to this food brand- just all over yahhhhssss

My dogs love this food. One of my dogs has a sensitive stomach and another gets a rash from certain dogs foods. This is great because all my dogs can eat it with no problems. The only downside is it is expensive when you have to buy 4 bags a month.
