The one book to rule them all
Awesome, my precious book. I bought it because my mom is a HUGE LOTR fan and she got me into LOTR as a kid. The pages are a wax, soft text book feeling. There is a smell to it but opening it a few times a week and the smell should go away. The appendix's are all in the back in case you are like me, and thought this wasnt right (I freaked when I saw there was more than 1,000 pages missing and thought I got a butchered copy). Sturdy book and love the plastic cover to keep dust off.

It dust cover is pretty but a little thin
Beautiful book but is pretty heavy if you wanted to read it straight through. Illustrations are pretty.

Hard to intrepret
You really need to see The Hobbit as a play to interpret this. I think Elrond's ring has the spell of heaven which is supposed to make it seam like you are in heaven. Ghandalf's ring has the spell of levity, and Galdriel's ring has the spell of life. It represents the fear of the elves that they will someday die of dehydration.
