Review: Changed original review based on exceptional customer service and better quality product sent to me as replacement - Changing review based on company replacing the item. I posted my original review stating how unhappy I was and the company responded immediately by sending me a new duvet set for free. And this time it was a much higher quality duvet set. It is very soft and pretty much wrinkle free out of the dryer. It is thin, so don't put a bright or dark colored comforter inside the duvet cover (if you get the white duvet like me). Very happy with this for the price. I suggest that if you are sent a version of this that is scratchy and wrinkly, contact the company for a replacement. Original Review: Too good to be true. It's not soft, it's very scratchy despite multiple washes and fabric softener sheets, and it's so wrinkly that it looks terrible even if I take it straight out of the dryer and lay it flat. I'm not happy with this at all. Unfortunately, it's 60 days past the date that I can return it. It has been in my guest bedroom and it has only seen a few guests, so it took this long for me to try to break it in hoping it would soften up, but it hasn't. Don't buy this! Review: Good quality lightweight cover at great price - This is a lightweight duvet (comforter) cover that comes with two pillow shams. Prior to purchasing I read reviews complaining that it's"too thin" and you can see dark colored comforters through a light colored cover. Personally, was looking for a thinner, lightweight cover for summer use. I live in Florida--summer is hot but a/c is running so i want to be covered, but not roasting. I have a heavier, high quality Pottery Barn cover that I use in fall/winter which is beautiful but it's heavy and warm (and easily twice the price of this one). The Utopia cover is not has high thread count, but it's exactly what I was looking for. I purchased it in white and have it over a white comforter. If you have a dark comforter you'd probably be better off with a dark cover or a cover with higher thread count. Unlike other duvet covers, this one does not have ties in the inner corners. It makes it a little harder to get on, but honestly even with the ties wrangling a comforter into a cover isn't the easiest task. I turned the cover inside out, grabbed the corners of the comforter and then held the corners while shaking the cover over the rest of the comforter. Once I got it on I haven't had any problems the comforter sliding around inside the cover. It stays put. The one I got buttons on one side. It is a little longer than my comforter which is fine because it provides a little extra length at the foot of the bed. Overall this is a good item and priced right.

Great duvet cover!
This is an excellent duvet cover! It is definitely 100% cotton and well-made. It is actually better than duvet covers that cost 3x as much! Before I ordered it, I read all the negative reviews (I usually do that with any product) and I have to say that I disagree with them. One wrote that "mercerized cotton" is a polyester blend. That is incorrect. Mercerized cotton is one that has been treated to make it more durable and it can be either 100% cotton or a cotton blend that has a polyester core. In this case, it is 100% cotton. Some people wrote that it is "scratchy." Personally, I do not think it is scratchy at all and I would actually prefer it to be less "silky" but that's a personal preference. I grew up in Europe and as a child I had linen sheets. So, I have always preferred sheets that give more "feedback" on the skin. I never liked the sateen, extremely high thread count, sheets that are popular today and I prefer 150-300 thread count. I have to say that I love utopia bedding products. Originally, I bought one top sheet from them because I wanted a cheap cotton fabric to wrap an antique item and I had no time to go to a fabric store. I thought I was buying a cheap sheet and had low expectations. I was so surprised by the quality that I ordered a set for my bed. Then, I decided to get the duvet cover and I am glad I did. I will definitely be buying more from them. If I had to give a criticism for the duvet cover, I would say that the fabric seems a little thinner than their sheets. It's not really thin but when I feel the sheet and the duvet cover at the same time, I detect a slight difference. It does not bother me and I love the duvet cover but the sheets are probably a little better in terms of fabric weight.

Sizing Issues
Although the cotton has softened over time (it was like cardboard after the first few washes), the main issue is the sizing. I purchased a queen set, however the length of the duvet cover is too short, meaning my standard sized queen down insert bunches up at the top or the bottom. I have several duvet covers which do not cause this problem - this one is just off about 4-5". Perhaps I just got one that was incorrectly measured when manufactured, but proceed with caution.

Lovely, Classic Duvet Set. Affordable Price.
Exactly what I was looking for and at a a decent price. I had something like this in the past but for more expensive and I was pleased that this set came with two coordinating shams. I have a down comforter that has gotten a bit dingy over the years and wanted a nice crisp white cover to make it new again. It worked perfectly and is easy to maneuver with the button enclosure. I know some people may complain that there aren't hooks to hold the comforter in place, but that can easily be rectified by using large safety pins or skirt pins. Also this product is 100% cotton and does wrinkle quite easily. After washing when you receive it, you may want to iron it with steam and use a little wrinkle spray. This may be tedious for some, but I strangely love ironing so it wasn't really a big deal for me The material isn't as soft as most of my sheets but that is also fine for me because my skin isn't coming into direct contact with the material; usually a sheet goes in between your body and duvet.. Otherwise it's working out perfectly and I was very happy with the shipping price/speed, and customer service.
