Is it for decoration?

Yes, it is definitely a decorative piece. About the size of a chopping knife. It's very cool an nice quality though. I love it; use it as a letter opener on my desk.

I gave it as a gift last year so I can't measure it. I would guess it was maybe 4". I was told it looked good on a bookcase.
