Decent replacement
Works fine. It was a bit noisy, not a creaking sound but more like the sound of plastic on metal friction (which is what it is). These out of the box were about as stiff as my worn out OEM parts, so I ended up spraying a lot of lithium grease onto the backside, onto the arm and into the mechanism. That smoothed it up quite a lot and hopefully they will break in a bit more and become very smooth. The arm does lock in 2 places, about 1/4 door opened and 1/2 opened. It makes me curious about the AC Delco or "OEM replacement" parts you can get, that look exactly the same as this. These seem a bit cheap but for the rear doors I'm not that concerned. The check strap from factory is an metal spring with some bushings, heavy duty but once some moisture got to the bushings they rusted up and were no longer smooth.

Had the original one which were loud and annoying. install these in 15 minutes a side and ...
Must have for the second row doors on your 2001-200? Yukon Tahoe. Had the original one which were loud and annoying. install these in 15 minutes a side and smoothest door ever. I have owned the Yukon 10 years and finally a quiet door. Beware door shuts too fast now that you a use to slamming the old parts/door. But you will get over it. Easy to install to a basic wrench man. Remove lock tab, and door handle cover with screwdriver tip, pry, take two bolts out of panel ,9/32 nut driver, under grab handle and below speaker, pull up on panel and out. remove power window clip and courtesy light clip. lay panel down. pull back plastic and you can see it on the inside. go to outside and remove 1 bolt, 15mm?, and pull rubber back on door side, two bolts there, 10mm? and pull out. make sure you put rubber back on new piece before bolting down!

Pesky creaking/grinding door noise solved.....
This item solved that pesky/irratating creaking & grinding noise when we opened our Tahoe rear passenger door. VERY PLEASED!! Just a heads up, you must remove the interior door panel trim to install on 01 Tahoe. To do so, remove 2 screws, one at bottom of panel and one under arm rest and LIFT UPWARD ON THE PANEL, DO NOT PULL OUTWARD ON PANEL BEFORE LIFTING UP. DOING SO WILL BREAK THE ATTACHMENT HOOKS!! This is NO fault of these folks, just how GM designed the trim panel... Hopefully this will help someone avoid damage to the trim panel and frustration.

One check strap is failing after 1.5 years
Update: After 1 year and 6 months of use, one of these straps is starting to fail. The spring part of the strap is making noise that no lube can address. It may need to be replaced again. I'm surprised it didn't last longer!Original review: Fit my 2001 Chevy Tahoe LT perfectly and now my rear doors don't make that awful screeching noise!

No More Squeaky Rear Doors
I own a 2001 Yukon XL. have had back doors that have made a aweful sound from the rear doors. Put it off until my kids called me out on it. Received these 2 replacement parts from Dorman. Put both of them on in about a hour. Do you hear that.....Exactly. Excellent Item. Better than OEM.

No more creaks
Perfect fit, super simple 15 minute installation, now no more annoying door creak.Pop out bezel around door handle and the sliding door lock. Remove two screws, one at front of armrest, other at bottom corner of door, then lift the door panel off. Peel back the moisture barrier, remove the OE door strap seal, unbolt the OE door strap. Put in new strap and reassemble.Note: Added thin layer of HD wheel bearing grease to all sides of the new strap before installing.

Worked as the OEM inteneded
I installed these on the real doors of my Silverado, they work great and are nice and quiet. They have a little softer "notch" then the OEM wheel and bar style, but I like that about them. Would recommend.
