I don't exact od of the housing mine installed and is surrounded by foam but it usually 1/2 -3/4 bigger than the fan od. **Q: Will this help and work with the 64mm 3s freewing f/a-18 edf jet "royal maces"? is it worth upgrading?** A: You'll need to compare the KV and the thrust ratings. I used it on a Neptune flying wing replacing a noisy 5 blade. Its very quiet compared but i believe i lost just a bit of both thrust and speed. I'm not a full throttle flier so top end isn't an issue and I appreciate the tone of this EDF. **Q: My motor is not turning it’s just beeping what does that mean?** A: Try another esc make sure do not use more than a 4 cell battery. Either that or if you use a opto use can install a ubec to power the servos and receiver. Total cost about 20 to 35 for upgrade.
