This thing saved me buying a new dryer!
I didn't know much about dryers so when ours stopped working I thought.. great!! I get to spend a few hundred dollars on something I really don't want to spend it on! Anyways I started shopping around and kept coming across brand names that were refurbished and ridiculously cheap compared to the same exact models brand new. This lead me to wonder what internal parts could be inside a dryer if well trusted brands were being sold by well trusted sellers. Thats when I learned that's its essentially a motor, a pulley, and a belt.. aside from the drum itself or the casing obviously. Anyways turns out a very common thing is the belt breaking, the pulley breaking or coming detached, or both problems combined. There are other issues that can go wrong but really the last main part involved in the dryer internally is the motor. Anyways turns out you can do some quick research and find tons of very helpful info or videos online on how to check the parts i mentioned for failure. Essentially it took me 5 to 10 min to verify that the belt in my dryer had indeed broken, that the idler pulley had become detached from the slots in the casing it attached into (probably as a result of the excess tension that occurred when the belt broke), and that amazon sold either of these parts separately or together for so cheap it'd make your head spin (not really your head just your dryer hopefully). After I got the new belt the following afternoon, I spent 30 min putting it on and I can't tell you how cool i felt being able to lean over that thing and tell my wife how the dryer worked again and we'd be saving 800 dollars on a new one we thought we had no choice but to get.. turns out you don't always need to spend tons of money on these things and you can save an arm and leg with some fairly simple work and a cheap Amazon purchase but the outcome is not cheap as in a cheap fix to "hold you over until the inevitable." It's that ppl like me who don't understand these fairly simple components inside go bad and need replacing sometimes and thats what was so shocking to me.. in this case it was cheap because that's really all it cost to correctly fix my dryer!

Okay belt
This is the second belt; the first one lasted a few years and broke. I’d say for the price and convenience, the belt is pretty good.

Perfect fit and relatively easy to install.
Thank you Amazon for this easy to install. Could have used a second person but a stack of books works to hold the drum.

Get the 4 pack because they're thinner than OEM belts
Install is quite easy. After unscrewing the lint trap from the lid (whirlpool), raise the lid. Undo the 2 10mm bolts holding the face of the dryer on. Then remove the dryer face and drum. My advice is to scuff your drum up a little bit where the belt rides, if your belt was slipping. It really helps with squeaking. Then, even if your drum rollers are fine, take them apart and clean them. They are bronze and need no lubrication if they are the OEM ones, but they get gummy from lint. Lastly, I would recommend the 4 pack of belts. These belts usually last me a year. Our dryer runs daily and we do 2 loads of laundry a day at least. They are thinner than OEM and the rubber is not as supple, but they work. Just keep in mind that they like to break at hard times, like the day before Thanksgiving. So do yourself a favor and have a spare. Overall I am pleased with the value and lifespan of these belts.

Fixed my dryer, durability good so far
The belt on my Amana dryer broke and I decided to try this option. The install was easy and it fit no problem. So far I have had no problems with durability as I have ran ~5 loads of laundry ranging from heavy towels to small loads and no issues. Will update should this change.

As advertised
Belt broke on my dryer and easily replaced. Most of the older dryers are the same, just need to make sure u get the right size belt. If your belt broke like mine, measure it's length and it'll probably be slightly longer than the one you need as it would have stretched over time. Watch a quick youtube video and your set. You might even find enough change in the bottom of my dryer to pay for the belt lol

Whirlpool Dryer from 1980s Lives
My mother has a Whirlpool dryer from the early 1980s that stopped running in the 1990s. She never used it since and would just hang her clothes to dry. After troubleshooting the dryer, it was just the belt that broke. This belt fit it perfectly. The dryer works once again. Good product but can not speak for how long the belt will last only time will tell.
