I fully charged it before using it on a camping trip and it kept our phones powered up throughout the weekend and it still had about half charge by the time we left the campground. When we got back home, I set it in a sunny window expecting that the battery pack would be fully charged for the next camping trip. Good thing I checked it the night before we left because it was completely drained. It had to be plugged in to charge and use again. It is not clear if the solar panel even maintains the charge.
