Well pleased with the design book. Even though was used, no damages and the condition was as if it was new. I thank Wonder book and Video for upholding their good reputation.

I bought this book looking for initials and floral designs. It has both, and they are VERY gorgeous. However. This book is not a compilation of initials and floral sprays from a variety of sources, rather it's a compilation of designs found in two old Spanish embroidery books. Therefore, while gorgeous, the initials are VERY limited. If you need a book that gives you every letter for each style, this is not the book for you. For each design, there's MAYBE 2-5 examples, and some letters aren't in the book at all. Most of the floral designs are tied to the initials and monograms, there's not a lot of stand-alone floral designs if you're looking for those. And, most designs are very swirly scrolly fancy. VERY swirly scrolly fancy. I still like it though, because swirly scrolly fancy is kind of what I was looking for. The lack of complete alphabets is a little disappointing, but I think you can still work with it if you have a little imagination and a teeny bit of artistic skill.

I was excited when I discovered this book and I knew I had to have this for my library. I am a calligrapher and I am always looking for designs that will enhance my work. I was not at all disappointed when my package arrived! The work is very detailed and the book has plenty to offer. not to mention the embellishments are just to die for!!! The script/lettering is fantastic and it was well worth the investment. I know this book will never be found on the shelf or coffee table because it will be well used and always on my work table. Just sign me as "ONE HAPPY CALLIGRAPHER"!!!

The designs in this book is just darling.

As beautiful as these drawings are, and the amount of letters shown, she has not included the letter K in any designs in the entire book. The letter K is my initial and I was looking for a K To be digitized for stitching but there isn't a single example in the entire book. I had hoped for examples of the entire alphabet.

The designs in this book are lovely! However, I was really disappointed because in some of the monogram designs only a few letters are presented and not the entire alphabet relative to that design. The layout of the monogram alphabets is scattered; it is difficult and time consuming to search for a particular letter and design because the book layout is not organized according to alphabetical order or design.

So many designs to choose from, or take a bit from one and add it to another. The creativity this book offers is almost endless. Best of all, it's so 'different', a pleasure to own.

I really want to love this book -it has great illustrations and a lot of them. There is only one real problem with this book - there is not one 'K' to be had!'A major issue as my name begins with a 'K'. I'll keep it but it is not as useful as it could and should have been.

There was quite a bit of alphabet missing on some of these designs. But if that can be got around, a lovely book of designs, which also could be used for painting/embroidery. Fast delivery

Die Vorlagen aus diesem Buch hat die Autorin laut Vorsatzblatt aus zwei seltenen spanischen Stickereibüchern entnommen, die aus der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts stammen.Die Motive sind allesamt sehr romantisch und- wie schon der Buchtitel sagt- "Floral". Blumen und Ranken überall!Alle Abbildungen sind in schwarz-weiß und es sind grundsätzlich mehrere auf einer Seite. Bei sehr großen und verschlungenen Werken kann die Seite deshalb auch schon mal etwas übervoll wirken.Der Druck ist an manchen Stellen etwas blass, aber ausreichend.Viele Motive sind über die Breite gedruckt (was wohl wegen ihrer Größe nicht anders ging). Daher muss man das Buch drehen. Beim Abzeichnen kann das etwas schwierig werden, da das Buch dann eher die Tendenz hat, einfach zuzuklappen. Am besten man kopiert sich die betreffende Seite heraus.Es gibt fast nur Monogramme und Lettern, dazu ein paar ausgeschriebene Eigennamen. Viele der großen Monogramme haben aufwändige Außenverzierungen und Rahmen, die man notfalls auch einzeln verwenden kann.Die Bandbreite an Blumen und Verzierungen ist enorm- Von ganz verschlungen bis zu relativ schlicht und einfach. Es müsste sich also für jeden etwas dabei finden.Die Modelle sind nicht kreuzstichgeeignet- dafür um so besser für Weißstickerei oder normales Sticken auf Seide oder BW, bzw. Leinen.Auch als Buchverzierungen oder für Stoffmalerei sind sie gut geeignet.Die Größen schwanken zwischen 2- 15 cm.Leider wurden die Motive nicht nach A-Z sortiert, sondern erscheinen eher nach Stilrichtung, so daß man sich den benötigten Buchstaben oder das Monogramm "erblättern" muss.Bei ganz verschnörkelten Monogrammen kann es auch etwas schwierig sein, sie zu entziffern- leider fehlen hier erklärende "Untertitel" in moderner Schrift. Bei anderen Dover-Büchern zum Thema Monogramme sind sie enthalten.Trotz dieser kleinen Mängel ist es ein sehr nützliches Buch für Sticker und eine richtige Fundgrube für romantische florale Motive. Ich finde, es ist den kleinen Preis wert.
