I boulder indoors min 3 times a week and for around 2.5/3 hours. My level are problems v5-v6 so fingers strength and strain is a big thing. Used to use Uni dust and also tried all popular brands and this keeps my fingers in better condition and massively decreased peel as well as staying on less even when sweating through hard problems. This was the first climber's chalk I had ever used, so I had no idea how superior its quality was compared to other chalks. It wasn't until I borrowed my friend's chalk that I found out that other chalk is so chunky and brittle to the hands. This chalk does much better in retaining my hand's moisture and its powder texture is similar to that of confectioner's sugar. I only need to use a little bit on my finger tips before I spread the rest onto my palms. The little I need makes it last so long! I climb about 2-3/ week and shared over half of the bucket with someone else, and I still have some left a year and a few months later! I repurchased because I am finally running low, but it is definitely worth the price.

I have had my eye on buying the 5lb tub of primo chalk for quite some time and it certainly DID NOT disappoint.I lift weights and I also indoor rock climb so I am constantly testing my finger/ hand strength which means I'm always tearing the skin off my hands.I have used other brands of chalk which do the job but Primo Chalk is in its own category. The chalk is so fine that you only need a bit of it to cover both hands (finger tips to palms). I find that a quick layer of chalk will last me through at least 2 set of me lifting weights or at least through one route of climbing holds at my local climbing gym. I find that after my workouts once i was washed the chalk off my hands that my hands feel softer.I have noticed that other reviews say that they notice a cinnamon or lavender smell. I don't get that from my chalk but i will say that it smells clean/ pure it definitely a different smell than other chalk brands.I say if you are trying to decide what chalk to use Primo Chalk is he only way to go and if you buy the 5lb tub, and your the only one using it, it'll be the only chalk you'll ever need.

i have had dry stressed skin my whole life. Bouldering took my hands to a new level, this is the only chalk i can use where my hands feel halfway normal after rinsing off. its soft as velvet and the smell is perfect, not too much, not too faint. Just keep the original bag sealed while using smaller increments to maintain the scent better.

I was skeptical at first about the essential oils and was worried that the additives would make the chalk less grippy, but I was wrong. The chalk is very fine and sticks amazingly well to the skin as opposed to regular magnesium carbonate. With regular chalk, I find myself having to reapply after every set, and making a huge mess in the process. With Primo chalk, although more pricey, I’ve found myself using and applying less frequently than regular chalk. This product is great for hook grip and smells great as well. Plus it comes in a nice little red bucket. I’d definitely recommend this product to serious lifters who need that extra grip support.

This is the second fill up of my climbing chalk bag with Primo chalk. Had used another brand in between and did not think it worked as well as Primo. The scent is great and it does not seem to dry out my hands. It does work well for climbing. You get a good coating of chalk with out it being too much. My hands don't sweat a lot, so the chalk seems to last fairly long. Like the product. Will purchase again when the 1lb runs out.
