CMVisionUL Listed Regulated Power Adapter, 12VDC, 3Amp for Camera, LED Light, IR Illuminator

I bought a couple of other AC to DC adapters that were rated for 5 amps. They were extremely lightweight, and I was highly skeptical of their rated power. Although not a scientific test, I judge these little devices by their weight lol. This one has some weight to it, and it seems to work very well for my application. Since there seems to be a lot of exaggerated claims concerning actual power output, I see no reason this little unit cannot handle the rated amperage of 3 amps at 12 volts DC.

This IS NOT a 3 AMP Power Supply. It shuts down with anything more than 1 AMP.The voltage is an almost perfect 12.2 volts.I wired it into a circuit with a contact closure to light a T1156 Bulb, it would not light the bulb.On my 2 AMP regulated power supply, this bulb draws 1.9 AMPs. This 3 AMP power supply should be more than enough.Tested it using fuses.Shorted the terminals using a 3 AMP fuse. It shut down and did not blow the fuse. Not an issue, 3 AMP power supply, 3 AMP fuse, the power supply shut down first. Acceptable for safety.Shorted the terminals using a 2 AMP fuse. It shut down and DID NOT blow the fuse. This proves this unit DOES NOT supply 3 AMPS, it proves that it DOES NOT even supply 2 AMPS.Shorted the terminals using a 1 AMP fuse and it Blew The Fuse AND Shut Down. Since it also shut down at 1 AMP this power supply can NOT supply more than 1 AMP.Attached my T1156 Bulb to the terminals and it would not light properly. It light very dimly then shut down. It kept repeating this causing the bulb to have a very dim flashing effect.This power supply is listed as 3 AMP +/- 3%. This IS NOT correct. 3 AMPS - 3% is 2.9 AMPS.Even if it was 3 AMPS +/- 30%, it would still supply 2 AMPSUnfortunately for me, I cut the plug off before a thorough test and can not return it.

It's simple, and it works great.A power supply is a power supply is a power supply; so long as your supply is regulated and not spikey, then 12VDC is 12VDC. It doesn't matter if it comes from this supply, or some "name brand" supply sold by manufacturers as an accessory to products that are 3x the price. Just make sure your item needing power draws about half the maximum amperage capacity of the supply and you should never have a problem with heating and/or failure.I'd buy this again if needed.

This is a good 12 volt DC power supply which is saying something significant where you can buy unstable terrible ones elsewhere. Upon receipt it was tested and the output was 12.02 VDC!!!! I have purchased a number of others for perhaps three dollars less and most were thrown into the trash. I will buy CM Vision from now on, this first unit appears to be of reasonable quality, made well. I think that the UL listing is the characteristic I will consider whenever purchasing power supplies or electrical hardware from now on.

Works great. I needed a power adapter for my 3Com switch, and 3Com is no longer in business parts are hard to find.I purchased this one, which was more powerful (amps) than the one I was replacing. I did have to re-wire to use the correct size plug, but it works like a champ, and because i is more powerful, it runs cooler than the original.

I especially wanted a UL approved (listed) product and this was the best choice I found. The power supply seems well built and cables are firm in the connections. The voltage regulation is good and I hope it will be maintained as I eventually install the power supply with my soon to arrive LED lighting strips. Shipping time was exceptional (2 days) for "free shipping"! Thanks.

Works fine. I got this to replace a cheaper power adapter that died after a month. This one is still going strong. I use this for an astronomy camera, so it spends a lot of time outside and works fine after months of use.

I bought the CMVision12 volt power adapter to replace one that I had powering my Hikvision 3 mp bullet cam which failed after two years . The CMVision 12 volt adapter works fine to power the camera. It was delivered on time with PRIME.
