I compared this company & the other main competitor with a similar rating & 5× the reviews who, at the time, was also a bit cheaper. The reason I chose to spend a bit more is the guaranteed positive factors associated with the extra $ spent. 1st thoughts were whether I wanted to spend (at the time) roughly $40 extra from 3D Innovation vs 'saving' $40 (roughly 25% less, both "large" size) for something I want to have for the rest of my mother's & then my lives. As I did a little research the answer was obvious: yes. Size: same. Crystal quality: same Technique used: similar if not the same, ASIDE from any artistry/decisions made as far as placement- which is unknown. More $ DOES NOT always mean more care/skill. Just saying: it was an unknown. The ABSOLUTE KICKER: The other company offers 3,000,000 "dots" that make up the detail/clarity. 3D Innovation does 5,000,000 in THE SAME AREA. You're getting, at WORST, 1 & 2/3 the detail. THAT'S HUGE. 25% more price vs 67% more detail? That's a deal when every other aspect by comparrison is a wash and/or leaning in favor of 3D Innovation. Initially I didn't WANT to fork out extra, but I thought on it & decided I would be STUPID NOT TO in this case. Received the crystal & the detail is great. My mother CLEARLY stands in front of me, her face countoured, her hat brim sticking out at the viewer in a GREAT 3D effect. I turned out as I should, in 3D & symmetrical, angled as I was in real life. I was SO NERVOUS about this being a waste of $, but the high ratings led me to make the leap. I normally don't do reviews. But, as cheesy as it sounds: I KNOW this will be a Christmas gift that will forever be evoking memories of a beautiful time we had together while celebrating our birthdays. Her happy tears will flow, guaranteed.😂😇. MAKE SURE you read the sizes & visualize with a tape measurer before finalizing. Btw, I ALSO opted for the extra 2D background feature & it adds sooo much. As well, the engraved date, note, etc. looks great & couldn't have been positioned better for me. They even cleaned up a lil spot in the bottom left corner that had unwanted words. I recommend. 100%

I have been purchasing on Amazon since the mid 2000s and this is the first review I've ever written: this product is incredible. I uploaded a photo of my daughter and ordered this cube for my fiance for mother's day, it is absolutely amazing and came out far better than I expected. The image appears fully 3d and as you move the cube her face moves along with it, spectacular illusion and I am in awe at how clean it came out. I would STRONGLY recommend getting the lighted base, I didn't get one and regret it as the illusion is much better with light. Turning the flashlight on your phone and holding it under the cube does a great job of showcasing the engraving, but a lighted stand would have really knocked this out of the park. One day FedEx shipping was a nice touch and I couldn't be more pleased with how this came out. 1000 out of 10.

***UPDATE*** Customer service is absolutely 100% top notch! Best of the best!! Adam reached out to me immediately to create the crystal I envisioned! He corrected the font placement and sent the correct base. He stayed in constant communication and had the new crystal and base sent very promptly. Absolutely thrilled to give my mother in law this beautiful piece of art work!! Thank you Adam!! I will order from you all again in a heartbeat. I love how the "love you mom" is very visible away from the picture and it lights so beautifully with the correct base (new pictures added). Oh and once again, you all made sure to package with great care so it wouldn't damage. I'm so very impressed!! Disappointed. 1. Not sure why a rectangular cube came with a round light base? I dont think the round base provides the amount of light that it should for length of the rectangular crystal. 2. I think it looks better if those in the image are wearing darker clothes (as you can see with the darker plaid shirt vs solid light shirts). My husband and mother in law dont have much detail on the side that appears to be 3D. You can see this by looking at their smiles. The smiles dont look very visible (the side saying love you Mom). I almost like the other side better as far as visibility and facial details but the lettering is on the other side of the crystal. 3. My font was moved from where I placed it when ordering. I had it in the top right corner almost identical to the advertisement picture. If it didnt fit that's fine, but I would have preferred not to have it at all with the image being place directly behind the wording. I thought the writing appeared more visible without anything disrupting it. I'm not as excited to gift it to my mother in law for mother's day as I hoped I was going to be. I did appreciate the fast shipping and the way it was packaged so it would arrive safely without damage.
