And singing and working with the song the Twelve Days of Christmas. Where I work teaching it is a part of the culture to celebrate this holiday. One way you can approach that is to take a traditional carol and look at the times it represents, what it is teaching in it's context, how it changed over time. My goodness we learned so much just about colly birds. You might enjoy looking that up if you are an autodidact. So with the traditional song we did work with the ordinal numbers in 1st grade, reversing number order, talking about dozens, the calendar, religious story lines, tremendous reading of the song text, with learning the animals, context, terms, history of the song, we all learned to peck it out on the class piano, we performed it with the Muppet's CD for parents, and we made our own knock off twelve days of something books about an ever increasing list of things awaiting something, sorry I must run to the point of a review here....but one of the pleasure I have is sharing my collection of Twelve Day books. This one I re-ordered, as my first from over ten years ago was beat ragged. It came better than the original. So worth the price.For one thing it's pristine. For another the last pop up, unlike the original actually lights up. It's amazing.I intend to do a follow up pop-up book with them that we make, but we'll do The White House I think. The first graders were so fascinated with the magnificence of Sabuda's design.What you get here are the most fascinatingly complex displays of these caroled period pieces of gifting. My favorite the jewelry box with dancer that becomes the ladies dancing. It takes your breath to see a paper artist work like this. The images of the gift remain in white. It's a design masterpiece.I'm sure this would be a real asset to any collection, but because the paper is so good, the quality so fine, I recommend it be considered for an example of the wonders of paper art.I don't think it necessary to celebrate the holiday to celebrate this, in the way one listens to the work Handel produced to elevate your heart and mind each December-not necessarily in the faith-though it could be so. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best Christmas gift ideas *by I***D on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 7, 2022* This gift was a hit and I had previewed it before I gave it.
