My vet recommended this product to help negate the issue of tooth and gum problems my senior dog has. He loves the taste and these have nutrients plus the effect of a cleaning. I give them to him at night and they do the job. His breath is improved and drooling has lessened. Great amount of product for the price. And he loves it! I appreciate that.

I am a retired dog trainer. This food is EXCELLENT to use not only as food, but the dogs love it so much I now use it in lieu of biscuits/treats! Perfect shape to stuff foraging toys like the 'dragon egg' ones, too. Healthy treat that doesn't leave your hand sticky.

If you don't want your dogs teeth to fall out they need to have clean gums. You can brush their teeth every day, what a pain, pay $1,600 at least once in their life, or feed a hand full of these nuggets once a day and don't have to do either. I have a 15 year old golden doodle who only has two teeth with significant tartar after15 years. I also use them for very healthy dog treats. A small dog only needs 3 or 4 nuggets per day, while a larger dog needs a small handful.

Large kibble, not as large as Royal Canin golden Retreiver, but large enough to require big dog to actually chew their food. On third bag. Notice improvement in dogs breath (previously on salmon purina pro plan so that flavor may be the culprit). However dog likes it and we will continue to buy.

Only kind of dog food my mal-shi and Chorkie will eat. They get one piece at a time and take it away from the bowl and eat it. At 1st glance youd think it was too big of pieces for my 5 lb chorkie, but we had our mal-shi 1st and that's what he ate. We bought her different kinds, but she's been eating this since she was below 2 lbs. She wouldnt ever eat puppy chow after she learned to chew good. She's ate this her whole life. She'd chew on them for a while until they broke in half and then managed the halves just fine. Now she eats the whole pieces fine and has been for a while. It must taste real good to them, because I've tried cheaper ones to try to cut cost twice but they refuse to switch.. I ended up giving those away. I also like that it somewhat cleans their teeth. We leave it out for them all the time and they get a piece or 2 when they get ready for it.

Pretty good food quality, seems to digest well, high quality food

As a dog owner, I try to do the best for my dog. My mother is a veterinarian technician and strongly recommend that I take good care of my dog's teeth. Based on her job, she had plenty of stories about dogs with terrible teeth and told me that I should either feed my dog an oral care food or brush her (my dog's) teeth daily. Knowing that I wouldn't want to brush my teeth and that my dog wasn't going to like it, I opted for the oral care science diet. My mother recommends the Hills Prescription Diet TD (prescription oral care), but said that the oral care is also acceptable since it is available without a prescription. I have been feeding this to my dog for 3 years (since she was a puppy) and her teeth are very clean and white. I rest happily knowing that I won't be dealing with a vet recommending that I pay a huge amount of money to rip out teeth or put my dog under to get a teeth cleaning (these procedures can run into the thousands of dollars in some severe cases). Over all, the food is more expensive than other foods, but the benefit of knowing that my dog's teeth are well cared for is worth it to me because I know how expensive the alternative can be. Another added bonus- my dog likes this food!

I have dachshunds (3) and they are notorious for having bad teeth. The size of this kibble is intimidating at first but even my smallest (8lb) doxie has no trouble eating it. I have on occasion tried a different food with smaller kibble but the minute they see this big bag arrive they all get excited. Even if I mix in smaller kibble they will eat this food and leave the other in the dish. With feeding my 3, 22lb, 12lb and 8lb, this bag lasts about 2mos.

Great food for your dogs teeth, bit pricey though. I was getting this through the subscription and saved some money as well.

I don't know why i was expecting a smaller bag but not only was it HUGE, they filled this to the very top - very satisfied

only thing about this food , which is a dental food is that the kibble are very big and i felt my dog had trouble chewing them at times. Not sure what it is in the kibble but if definately change the colour and consistency of his poops...TMI i know but just to give you a heads up. His breath seems to be better also

Amazon often has the best price on this food. I usually watch it and buy when it's on sale. I frequently check the price against the big pet food stores in my region. I have a little dog that has awful teeth and this food seems to keep his mouth clean. Despite the kibble size he manages fine. I think the larger kibbles actually encourage him to chew his food instead of swallowing it whole which is better for his teeth as the kibble texture "scrubs" his teeth. Combined with regular brushing it seems to have made a difference for my dog. He also seems to enjoy his food, gobbling it up willingly and even accepting kibbles sometimes as treats. My vet recommended this food so I feel good about giving it to him.
