Elektra: Assassin

Great story and amazing art but dreadful paper quality.
I first brought this in monthly form back in the eighties and loved the story and artwork and the story and amazing artwork have stood the test of time well but I've got to give only three stars thanks to Marvels tightfisted way of treating their punters. The covers so thin it literally bends open in winds and the paper is only just thicker than toilet tissue. I've noticed this in the past with marvel when i brought their new Conan omnibus and I definitely won't buy anything from marvel ever again. The house of ideas as now become the house of of Rip offs.

Not typical Marvel, challenging but worth reading
The illustrations were difficult to follow almost poor, however the story although difficult was enthralling in its complexity and perhaps the impressionistic illustrations suited but did not add to the story. This is not typical Marvel, but clever and rewarding.

Incomparably off any Scale You Can Imagine!
I read this every few years alongside 'The Great Gatsby'.Just like Fitzgerald's best known book this one also keeps getting increasingly magical with each successive visit. An assassin, a rogue agent and some political intrigue. The rest of it defies analysis, but certainly not engagement, pleasure and excitement.Together with Born Again, this book puts Frank Miller in the very top tier of all fiction writers.
