Doodles: A Really Giant Coloring and Doodling Book

I bought this book because I find painting and drawing for real too stressful for me to do on weeknights. I have a very stressful job, and work long hours. I just wanted something I could do before bed that would be fun and help relieve the stress. I know this is mostly for kids, but I still found it fun. I could use my pencils and crayons to doodle. There is no pressure on me to create a masterpiece. It's just fun.The other reason that I got this book is to see if it would be appropriate for my nephew who likes to draw (at least that's what I tell myself). I read that the "Scribbles" book had some inappropriate content, so I wanted to look at every page before buying another copy for my nephew for his birthday. So far I see no inappropriate content.Pros:1) Fun2) Every page is a different activity3) Doesn't require a lot of art skills4) Challenges your imagination5) There are lots of "competition" activities where you have two partially filled in drawings on each side of the book, and you are asked to see if you can draw better than the other person.6) Lots of pages/activities7) Not just for coloring, can do mazes, complete the drawing, etcCons:1) Paper is very thin. It won't hold up to watercolors or felt pens.This is the only reason I didn't rate it higher.

It said in the description that the book was used but "Like new" (which is the best conditions possible), but actually many pages had drawings on it. We bought it as a present but we can't give a colouring book that's already coloured!Disappointing when the description is a lie.

Bought this book as a gift for a 10 year old child and she was impressed with it.As you look thru you see the unusual designs which the child has to think up his orherself to finish. I bought the companion scribbles book also for the other childin the family and found that they were intrigued. Great book for a rainy day orif a child says they have nothing to do. This book is good for a 5 year old upto a 99 year old. Very interesting and very different. They did not have any issuewith holding the thick book and sitting down on the couch to see which picturethey wanted to work on. I am going to buy this book again for another child's gift.

This is part of a series of books from Japan starting with Scribbles that has a bunch of interesting artwork and directs children to either color in or complete the pictures. My daughters find this book fascinating and we spend hours coloring. This is a great book for long trips either in the car or even in an airplane, though its size somewhat limits it's portability (it's a BIG paperback book). One other possible downside is that some (very few) of the pictures are a little morbid and appear out of place, but I wonder if some references to dead people are more related to a different culture regarding death. This doesn't bother my wife and I and our daughters really enjoy this book.

I love, love, love this book. I like it so much I also got one for my sister for her birthday. We're both in our 20's & I think that a lot of people think this book is just for kids; it's not! Actually I get the feeling that it's geared towards older 'kids'. It's a great way to get your creativity going... even if you can't really draw (like myself!) It's just fun & that's all I can really say about it. I get a lot of enjoyment out of this book & I think you would to if you would just buy it already!

I just bought this book, and the other Scribbles book for twice the price at a major club warehouse store! I decided to check reviews on it and saw both here for such a great deal. I ordered them from amazon, plus 1 more book and got free shipping! So I got 3 books for the price of 2! I am going to return the ones I just bought from the club store. The books are amazing, great for all ages, I can't wait to doodle with my 5 year old! Thanks for the great deal!

Gave it to an 8 year old. To tough for an adult.

Brilliant book! I think is a must have for any child. It makes you think “out of the box” and imagination flies!
