This was the first book of hers that I purchased, after hearing good things about it. I have never attended any of her workshops or even heard of her. Now I am a huge fan. My students love the parachute, rhythm instrument, and scarf activities in this book. Artie wrote it so clearly, but my favorite things are the listening maps for teaching Form and the DVD that comes with the book. I am such a visual learner, that when I watch the DVD I feel comfortable teaching afterwards. I even showed a few sections of the DVD to my students. Her kids are such good examples, it really helped my kids to see other kids smiling and cooperating. This is the only music book I've ever purchased where the same activities work with my preschool autism classes as well as general ed for K-6 and special education classes from K through 6th grades (every group I teach loves the William Tell activities). I've never had a lesson work with Pre-K all the way up to 6th grade for both general ed and special ed. These are the activities your students will repeatedly ask you to do over and over. Sometimes I save these activities for the end of class as a reward. I especially loved getting into this book at the end of the year during testing and when kids were really wiggly and needed to keep moving. I got a workout too.
