I watch a lot of films and it's rare I feel compelled to write a review about one but I enjoyed this film so much I felt I had to! I had never heard of Coyote Ugly until I read someone raving about it on Twitter so I took a risk and purchased the DVD.Coyote Ugly can best be described as a feel-good film about a young woman (Violet) who leaves a minimum-wage job in a small town to head to New York city to chase her dream of becoming a famous songwriter and she encounters the usual obstacles such as multiple rejections and money drying up.After passing an audition Violet is employed at the Coyote Ugly bar which is a very rowdy bar run by an amazing group of strong independent women and Violet gradually emerges from her shell and a romance ensues with a guy she met when she first arrived in New York, and he tries to help her overcome her stage-fright which is the main obstacle to her achieving her dream.I love everything about this film: the journey Violet embarks on, the a-m-a-z-i-n-g soundtrack and choice of music (I'm purchasing the soundtrack after I've finished this review!), the humour and the casting (John Goodman plays Violet's father which was an inspired choice.)Notwithstanding the name, there is nothing ugly about this film, it's one of the most beautiful films I've watched in a long time and I'll definitely be watching it again, and again.

Absolutely amazing movie, great quality at a great price

My favourite film. Sorry to say I wanted this extended cut for the sex scenes they cut out of original dvd which I also have. Great feel good film. My go to film when I need cheering up or after a break up. Plus I can drool over the gorgeous 'Kevin'!!

Watch myself good

This is one of my all time favourite chick flicks and have watched it often on TV and at friends. Finally decided I must have a copy!! My husband even watched it and while I don't think he gets it as well as me he did seem to enjoy it and actally did not fall asleep!! Don't think he will watch it again though
