Great long-term durability
I've used it nearly everyday for the last 2 and 1/2 years and haven't had a problem with it. It has delivered reliable, constant charging speeds for my X5 every time I have used it. Never had a fault , except maybe once when the power was interrupted. My car only pulls 16 amps so it maybe it doesn't put that much stress on the internals, but if this goes out I'll definitely be replacing it with another Lectron product. The only issue I can think of is the LCD screen pixels don't work that well anymore, but I never really used the screen anyway. I do like the feature where you could select and limit the amount of amperage output in case your breaker won't allow for higher amperage.

Simple and works
The installation was easy. I like the hook to hold the cord and the piece to clip the charging head into while not charging. The charger head clip orientation causes the charging head and some of the cord to stick straight out, perpendicular to the wall so it uses a little more room than necessary. this wasn't an issue for me, it doesn't stick out too far. I wish it could be mounted so the charging head can be stored more parallel to the wall. The charging block with the digital reasout is hung on a single nail or screw. This makes it easy to hang on the wall but acts as a pivot point, allowing the block to move when moving the cord. It doesn't have an effect on how it charges the vehicle but drives me nuts seeing it move and not hanging straight up and down. The level one charger that came with my 2022 Bolt hung on two nails\screws. It was a little more difficult initially mounting it, getting the spacing correct between the two mounting points, but it held the block securely. If this had two mounting points for the block and a way to store the charging handle more parallel too the wall then this charger would be perfect.

Updated: product failure
I’ll leave my original review below because I was happy with this cable for 14 months. But, on 14 months TO THE DAY! The cable failed completely. None of the lights come on. I’ve tried it on different outlets. Customer service says too bad because it’s 2 months past the 1 years warranty. A $300 cable shouldn’t fail in14 months. This is just another example of cheap Chinese products with good marketing. Original review: This was the third charge cable I bought after the two previous had failures. So far, this was is far better for two primary reasons and is only lagging in one. +1) The cable is rated for 32 amps and the controller actually has a step-down transformer so you don't have to worry about what is coming out of the outlet. The other chargers required me to adjust my car's draw to prevent them from over-amping. This was very annoying since I didn't always know what the outlet I was plugged into was rated for. Now, I can just leave my car at max amperage and just plug in the cable and charge. No extra steps. +2) The length of this cable is great. Some others claimed to be this long but had included the handle or were much shorter than advertised. The long cord means I can plug in no matter where the outlet is related to my car. -1)The one downside is that it's only rated for 32 amps, not 40 amps like the previous ones I had purchased. That means my car charges slower. The two positives totally outweigh the one slight negative.

Customer Service Excellent!
Lectron NEMA 14-50 Level 2 EV Charger - 240V 32 Amp with 21 ft Extension Cord & J1772 Cable - for J1772 EVs Purchased the charger in March 2023 and was very happy with quality and performance. However, 5 months later charger stopped functioning-nothing. Contacted customer service and am happy to report that Lectron corresponded immediately, and after reviewing a checklist of possible reasons, Lectron asked me to return the charger (they paid postage). I received a new charger within a week, and charger works perfectly. I'm guessing it was a fluke occurence, but Lectron customer service can be depended upon. Would recommend this company and this product.

Good charger, better customer service
I bought this and it worked great... for about a year. It charged my car in about 4 hours vs. 14 hours for a 110v charger. To their great credit, however, I notified the company that it had stopped working, and after sending a couple of photos and proof of purchase, they paid for me to send it back, and replaced it with a newer model for free.

Works well
The unit worked fine with the EV6 once I told the car to not pull as much current as possible. Initially I got an over current fault after a few minutes with the current going as high as 45+Amps on the display. To stop the charging early, I would prefer to have a stop button rather than having to unplug the unit from the wall. This is not a good choice for an ID4. The ID4 can not be set to 90% like the EV6. It can only be set to 8A in which case the car will charge very slow.

Worked well… for awhile
This charger worked for about 3 months then I had to contact customer support because it stopped working. They sent me a new after a few emails. After another 6 months that one stopped working. I’ve tried contacting customer service with no response, and now it’s been a year from my first purchase. I will update my rating if they’ll send me another one. Update: So it has nothing to do with the charger itself. It’s my outlet. I share the 220 plug with the dryer and some times it doesn’t jive. It’s been a good charger since I received the replacement more than a year ago.

Didn’t last and melted
I really liked this charger, good value for the money, and had no issues until two days ago. I went and unplugged my vehicle in the morning and when I went to leave it only had 44% of a charge. Weird but ok maybe something was with the vehicle. I drove to work and plugged into the charger there. It charged up no problem. Came home and plugged it in. Cam out this morning and saw the digital screen on this unit was glitching out. Checked and the vehicle was only at 46%. I went to unplug the unit from the vehicle and the handle was warm. Unhooked it and touched the wire/cable. It was also very warm. I went to unplug the unit from the outlet and noticed a melted spot on the back of the 14-50 plug. I immediately shut the breaker to the outlet off. The plug was so hot I had to get a glove to unplug it. This was very concerning. So I drove to work as normal and again no problems charging there. I also ran to a public charger to try it out there and again no problem so it’s not the vehicle. The outlet in my garage is an expensive name brand unit for EV’s and has been installed and used for several years so my only conclusion is to seriously spend the extra money on a UL-listed charger. I made the mistake and man I could of burnt my house down.
