By James Duke - Anesthesia Secrets: With STUDENT CONSULT Online Access: 3rd (third) Edition Paperback

This is the best in OR reading I have found. I simply cannot focus on a large text or journal articles during a case. I enjoy reading the one paragraph Q&A style. I feel I extract a learning point per question without ignoring my surroundings. Yes, many of the concepts are simple and fit for medical students. But there are numerous, numerous sections that delve into more advanced concepts that are worth reviewing routinely. In fact, one of my attendings is picking up a copy just for 'quick review'; both for themself and to better pimp residents and students on the 'hardcore basics'.Would buy again.

Lots of "pimping" questions in this book. Definitely good for quick studying in the lounge or during a long case.

compact and succinct without extraneous verbage. not much explanation of concepts will be found here, just the facts and pearls of this science. great for board exam preparation!

Great book for review of cases especially if you have limited time. Preceptors like to use this book to pimp you. Easy read, inclusive. Would recommend.

This is a must have for anyone in the anesthesiology profession. It is streight to the point.

This book is extremely well written and has all the information you are most likely to be pimped on. When residents have seen me reading it they say this is one of the best books around and that this new edition is extremely well done with the use of color and organization of topics. Most of these same residents will whip out their old copies and ask if they can compare the two to see if its worth them buying the new edition.If you already have a solid Physiology background, I suggest buying only this book and not wasting your time buying the baby Miller(Basics of Anesthesia).
