The real one...
We always wanted to try real Wasabi, but it was very hard to find. Even the local Japanese food stores didn't have it the last time we were in. Others on Amazon did contain some real Wasabi, but had other ingredients mixed with it and were of a higher price-point. This one was very reasonable. The taste is definitely different than the horseradish and hot mustard versions. Not quite as hot, but much more flavor. Easy to use and dispense due to the tube delivery. The strength is just right. Really makes a difference. You can use this on other foods other than just sushi. Mixed with soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger is a favorite, and again, not just for sushi.

Authentic, long lasting, with perfect packaging.
Absolutely fabulous. Rich in flavour, perfectly balanced amount of heat. Color is natural, not like the fake neon horseradish crap you usually get in the US. Stays fresh in the fridge for months, without losing taste or discoloring. Squeezer puts out perfect portions, no mustard bottle like juice or hitting the bottom of a bottle; you can make presentation style dollops with ease. My advice, squeeze it to keep minimal air in the tube; it will last forever. Plus you get every little bit out.

A legitimate wasabi without horseradish.
I noticed that the "use by" date is this summer which is why they don't offer subscriptions. That said, it's a very tasty wasabi without that ugly green dye or horseradish. Perhaps a bit too mild.

Overall, a good product but not like fresh as to be expected.
I'm Japanese, born in Tokyo, grew up in the US. I have family in Osaka. I have eaten freshly-grated wasabi (grated right in front of me) many times at high-end sushi houses in Osaka. This product is close but it's not freshly-grated so there's a lot missing when it comes to flavor. I found that the fresh wasabi I had in Japan had a bit more of a "horseradishy" bite that is lacking in this Musu product. For me, to achieve the"taste" and "heat" I added a bit of "faux" wasabi. That worked. Overall a good product.

Made in japan not neon green
Tiny tiny...I eat a lot of wasabi though. Delicious. Made in Japan No root to here to grind so it's close enough. Not the neon green in color though.

no complaints; only love
Crazy good. And the bottle is designed in a way that you don’t end up wasting a bunch or having to cut it open & perform surgery, which I always prefer. It’s a good deal, imo, for the quality & esp given that you can’t find the raw ingredients very easily in the US to make your own with just the powder - which can be tricky enough to source without a bunch of additives. This is our favorite wasabi to splurge on, otherwise we just mix up an organic powder & make our own less nuanced version. For what it’s worth, I usually mix up a big bunch of super spicy tamari with this & some ginger (and occasionally some sake, but usually just ginger); the sauce lasts us about 6 rolls, and we get ~4-5 sauces out of it, so it’s good for about 24-30 normal sized sushi rolls. A person who isn’t masochistically obsessed with spiciness, in a competition with their taste faculties to see how much they can handle, might exercise some restraint, or otherwise find that our use case overwhelms the flavor of the food it’s applied to, so it could easily stretch much farther for someone who isn’t trying to live like a culinary edgelord. Can’t particularly comment on the texture because we always mix it; but will say that it mixes up very well if you follow the usual rule of starting with a tsp or less of liquid to a powder/paste; mix thoroughly, then add more liquid gradually to blend until liquid osmosis takes charge. In that situation, it works perfectly.

Authentic Heat, Lacking Visual Appeal: A Mixed Bag Wasabi
Muso from Japan Real Wasabi aims for the high bar of authentic Japanese condiments, but it struggles with the visual expectations that come with "real" wasabi. While the ingredient list is clean, the experience at the table is a bit of a letdown visually. Why the experience is mixed: - The "Dead Grass" Color: The most immediate issue is the appearance. Instead of the vibrant, fresh green you expect from high-quality wasabi, the color is dull and looks like "dead grass." It lacks that bright, appetizing "low quality green" look that even cheaper pastes usually nail, which can make it less appealing when plated with fresh sushi. - Decent Flavor Profile: On the positive side, the flavor is okay. It delivers a more nuanced, earthy heat compared to the harsh, artificial "kick" of dyed horseradish pastes. Since it's vegan and gluten-free, it’s a safe, "real" alternative if you prioritize ingredients over aesthetics. - Authentic Texture: The consistency feels more authentic than the standard smooth pastes, though the unappealing color makes it hard to fully enjoy the texture.

Teal wadab8 root. Ferl it in the nose.
It doesn't matter if I'm heating up Kimbap from Costco and letting it cool, I'm making sushi homemade by hand at home. This is my favorite wasabi. Affordable price it's the real Wasabi root always make sure the main ingredient is wasabia joponica. That is the real Wasabi root. And the little goes a long way so don't worry about the size of it too you're only putting out a nickel size amount per serving. Real wasabi you feeling your nose that's how you know it's the real deal it will just suddenly hit your nose and dissipate quickly. With a little spicy tinge in your mouth. The fake horseradish will bring your whole back of your throat and mouth and that really hit your nose. But the real deal does and real wasabi has a distinctive taste that is perfect for sushi and kimbap I will definitely on a regular basis be ordering this and probably go on to the auto subscribe cuz I never run out of this precious item
