Modern rationalistic-materialistic thinking are persuasive and easy to fall prey to, and then get lost in the endless maze of scientism where only half truths are to be found.Today even christianity are being subverted by humanist ideals and methods of thinking.Martin Lings explains in his little book Symbol and Archetype how everything in the world are symbols relating to eternal archetypes, and how this perspective is common to all of the worlds traditions.It reveals the very core of true religion as being something eternal that is just as real in this modern age as when profets and sages walked upon the earth on sandalled feet.Even if the book favours the islamic faith as the subject, it is a pre-eminent introduction to the thinking of sophia perennis in the same spirit as the works by Frithjof Schuon, and men of all faiths will delight in the clarity of the wisdom, and perhaps feel aided in the final quest of life.The  writing style is eloquent and straigth forward, but the richness in words could make it a difficult read for people with English as their third language.A chapter from the book has been brougth online here :[...]The book can be hearthly recommended as the consolation of sane, intelligent words in an age where satanic madness raves out from televisions as well as from universities.Martin Honoré[...]
