I use these both to test meat temps and cakes/muffins. Inexpensive, easy to use, and much thinner than a meat thermometer.

They work good no big holes in cakes but

These are great for baking. Much better than a toothpick. They are easy to clean and compact. You can also use them to test for doneness on other than bakery items. I also use them to see how done potatoes are both baked and roasted ones. Very reasonable price for a three pack. If you do a lot of baking, it is worth the money.

Super nice to have reusable cake testers! I like that they are longer than toothpicks too, so it's easier to stick them in further. Very handy that they come in a pack of 3, because we like to keep them with various supplies/utensils. They have held up very well!
