Impressions About the Book 2019 Edition
First off, I have two FDM printers, one i3 Cartesian and one Kossel Delta type. I found the book very helpful going through a variety of aspects covering 3D printing on FDM printers. Sean really takes the time to show and write about his experiences and gives credit to his editor, David Feeney for assisting with the production of book. He covers the different filament types, and diagnosing various issues related to the hardware and results taking place from print tests performed. Thank you for all the photos incorporated in the paperback book and providing the ability of the people who showed proof of purchase the colored form of the photo's since the arrangement with Amazon that Sean has only shows the photos in B/W.

Excellent Resource for 3D Printing Newbies
I purchased a 3D printer after a couple of years of research, and after watching many of the author's YouTube videos (search for The 3D Print General). I figured this book would be a great companion to his channel, and I was right. Each section moves quickly with easy-to-follow suggestions and ideas, and are summed up nicely with bullet points at the end. I did request the PDF version for hi-res (color) photos, which the author kindly provided. It's a great guide with most of your common issues condensed into one volume, which is handy to have on hand when you're learning.

Great book if you want all information in one place
You could do research on the web and learn 90% of this but you won’t know what 10% you are missing. Get it all in one place in this book. I got this book during an open promotion so I can’t comment on the print quality chapter since it was ommitted. I have to assume it’s as complete as the rest of the book.

Probably the best 3D printing resource available.
This book is an absolute must have for anyone into 3D printing. I consider myself an advanced beginner, and this book has helped me so many times. The sheer number of issues covered and addressed in this book is truly impressive and there are a plethora of pictures and before and after comparisons. Sean, the author is an incredibly helpful and knowledgeable guy, and he’s glad to help if there’s something you’re not getting. He provides his email in the first few pages for you to contact him. Really, anyone from pro to beginner (especially beginner) should have this book.

3D Printing Failures
Great book. I used it the first week I received it. I took a printer that I couldn't fix. I then went down the list of things to check and now it's printing better than it ever has. The book also covers how to maintain your printer once you have it up and running. I wish I would have found this book sooner. This book will save you a lot of aggravation and make your prints better.

Very Informative, Well Written, and Well Organized (and Great Photos in the PDF)
This book contains a wealth of information. I've only had it a day, so I'm still learning, but I've already discovered a solution to parts being knocked over (Z Hop when Retracted). One reviewer wrote that the photos are poor quality. However, the author promptly provided a PDF containing high quality color photos on request. Thanks, Sean.

Great guide, poor quality pictures
This is a really great guide. Especially for beginner or intermediate 3D printers. The information is really useful and a great base to start out at until you are comfortable to experiment.BUT I can only give it 3 stars as much of the diagnostics part relies on using pictures to help the user recognize problems with their prints and the pictures are low resolution AND grey scale. A good handful of the pictures are useless as they are near impossible to distinguished a difference in comparison pictures and some others. With that said, if next edition uses HD, color pictures it will be an easy 5 stars.

Thank you, exactly what I was looking for to troubleshoot specific issues
This is a great reference to have next to my 3d printer to troubleshoot specific issues without having to sort through a ton of youtube videos as is most information you look for anymore to troubleshoot something. Very well thought out and exactly what I needed for quick reference on the spot.

Useful
I have about 3 months of 4 hours per day printing with an FDM printer and this book not only helped me find solutions to a few problems but also helped me think about problems which are not mentioned here, such as PLA prints losing accuracy close to the print bed because, I now realize, the bed was close to the glass transition temperature and the weight of the piece was squishing the lower layers. The printer maintenance part was especially useful, there are parts in there I did not think of, such as checking the tightness of the screws.I got it first via Kindle Unlimited then decided I want to keep a copy and bought it.

5 stars for content ! Buy the book of you are new to 3D printing and things are not working out.
Read this first on Kindle as a try out and decided this was a "must-have" for a reference/ troubleshooting guide. ( I'm new to 3D printing and have several unsolved issues.) This book seems to me to cover most aspects and saves hours of surfing through various forums and how-to-print websites. This book has two sides, the mechanical failings and the printing failures due to incorrect settings. In his book Sean Aranda apologises for the bad quality of the photos. They really are bad - black and white and mostly fuzzy. He claimed that if you mail him he is happy to provide the HD photos. I gave this a go and within 15 mins. he replied to my mail and sent the link to get the pics. He was even forthcoming with some extra advice which I really appreciate. Not many authors would go that far.Well worth the money for content and that is after all what counts

Good for beginners and a reference for experts
Very descriptive, it's a good material to start with for those just venturing into ffm/fdm 3d printing and at the same time a good reference material for experts.
