The size is perfect for draining pasta, vegetables, and fruit, and the stainless steel construction feels solid and durable. The handle makes it easy to use, and the holes drain quickly without clogging. Overall, a practical and reliable addition to any kitchen.

SIMPLY THE BEST STRAINER. YOU WON'T KNOW HOW YOU EVER LIVED WITHOUT THIS.
The Bellmain 5 qt stainless steel strainer is simply brilliant. It is very well made. Even the ring at the bottom, which lifts the strainer off the bottom of the sink, is well attached. The handles seem firmly attached as well. There is a 5-year warranty should these come loose. But the real magic is in the straining. The mesh allows liquids to pass though immediately. In the competitions' products, it takes a while for the liquids to pass though the holes. I had purchased Oxo strainers in the past. Oxo makes very good products at fantastic prices. But the Bellmain 5 qt stainless steel strainer outperforms Oxo by a wide margin. It is a pleasure to use and performs flawlessly, and 5 quarts is all the capacity I need. The Bellmain 5 qt Strainer is a joy to use.

Perfect size and quality
The strainer holes are nice and small, so I am able to strain anything with this and don't have to worry about anything falling through the holes. The handles on the sides make it easy to grip and use, and the stand on the bottom is a game changer. I can leave this in the sink to strain my ingredients while I do other things, and the stand on the bottom keeps the actual strainer itself and the food inside from actually touching the sink or counter, so it's very sanitary.Exactly what I needed and was hoping to find something like this. Not cheaply made, very reasonable price, and very useful.

A solid, well made colander
I use a colander nearly every day. My impressions are normally - meh...it's a colander. But thing is solid! There is heft to it. Seems very sturdy and looks beautiful. Just very well-made. I have not had it long so the real test is how it holds up to corrosion - especially along the seams. And to be honest, I am sick of everything so plastic. All of my kitchen tools now are stainless steel, wood, cast iron or ceramic. And this colander is what I was looking for...it is a great buy!

...probably passing the moon right about now...
okay, so, I have to say, this was a decent colander. I liked it, it was easy to clean, it didn't clog up, in most respects, five stars.however...the handles to the colander, while perfectly fine in the beginning, are simply not attached well enough. at some point, a couple months ago, I was holding it, washing it, I think, and one of the handles came off. this wasn't really a problem, I guess, since I mostly sit it on the edge of the sink while it's draining things, but one day...I needed to use the colander, I think to drain some cheap ground beef, but it was still dirty from the night before. simple enough, right? just wash it real quick and move on. so that's what I did, washed it real quick, then went out on the porch to shake it off so it would be dry. I gave it a couple swings, as we so often do when we are trying to quickly dry a colander, but after the second swing...apparently I don't know my own strength, or these handles were held on with chewing gum, tbd. the last handle broke off, and the colander went flying off the porch at speeds that would make Nolan Ryan proud. we live on the second floor, and I assumed that it landed in the bushes, but I was clearly mistaken. we own three acres of property, and in the last 60 days we have looked at all of it. this colander is simply not here anymore. somehow, it appears, through a combination of velocity and rotation, the colander has managed to break the surly bonds of Earth's gravity, and, I would guess, is passing the Moon right about now.bravo to the manufacturers of this colander, as they have managed to, without any intent whatsoever, launch a satellite into space, that may exist long after the time of man.

All Holes - Better Straining
Very good colander. I'm used to ones which have silly decorative holes that take some effort to dump the water - this product is actually almost entirely holes! This means actually effective, quick sifting. Impressive! The handles are thick and protect you well from the heat. The stand keeps the bottom from soap or whatever might be in the sink if it's unwashed. Very good colander.

Perfect strainer, really!!!
So I always thought a strainer was just a strainer, always had cheapy ones from Dollar Tree like places. This one is perfect...it's stainless steel, the holes are small, you can wash anything in it and drain the water. It washes easily, I've had no problems cleaning this one, stuff slides off. I love the non toxic, the fact that it's metal I don't have to worry if I leave it too close to a hot burner, boiling water is not going to disfigure it. It's durable and the 5 Qt size is perfect for a large pot of pasta. I will not ever go with another strainer. I bought this one as a 2nd one for a gift.

Works great for medium grain Sushi rice!
Wow. Just what I needed! I bought the double pack, one large/one small. After reading an article about how much lead is present in rice, and how cooking it like pasta was the best way to remove it, I started boiling my rice in a tall pasta pot. I regularly cook 2 cups of rice, twice a week. How to drain it from a pasta pot was tricky. I had been using a medium sized mesh strainer, but I needed to do it 3 times to get all the rice out, and it was still wet. This strainer was a godsend. The large one sat solidly in my sink, and a tip of the pot was all I needed to get 99.9% of the rice in, to drain. It drained immediately and completely, no shaking required, and not one cooked grain of medium size Sushi rice fell through the strainer into the sink.I also tried pouring dry rice in the smaller strainer and none fell through the holes. I believe you can use these to rinse rice with no issues. Teff, no
