***This is a review for BOTH Shaghaf Oud and Oud Aswad (gold bottle, black bottle)*** Shaghaf Oud (gold bottle) is a perfect fragrance for women like myself who aren't into the fruity florals constantly being marketed to us. Smooth, rich, warm, and definitely gourmand, this is a beautiful addition to my accumulation of Arabian oud-based perfumes. I can't stop smelling myself when I wear this. The saffron opening and subtle oud in the background add depth and keep you from smelling completely like a bakery, but you WILL smell edible nonetheless. Apparently the sillage and projection aren't bad either, since strangers have walked up to me in stores and complimented me on it. As to longevity, I can wear this all day, jump in the pool for an hour, and still catch whiffs on my skin afterward. For me, Shaghaf Oud is late afternoon sun and warm summer nights. Seductive is its middle name. Fans of amber, tonka bean, and of course oud will enjoy this. Another, similar fragrance is Lattafa's Oud Mood, but I have both because the latter has a delightfully subtle floral opening and the woodiness is more present all the way through the drydown. Also, Oud Mood doesn't last as long and wears a bit more lightly if you're afraid of overwhelming people with the Shaghaf. If you're looking for a more pronounced woodiness though, check out Lattafa's Raghba Wood Intense for all of the gourmand but also lots of smoke, spice, and more pronounced oud. I have all three. For a more oriental, slightly (but not cloyingly) berry note, go for the Shaghaf Oud Aswad (black bottle). That's beautiful as well, a bit like Narciso Rodriguez' original black bottle ("Her") and Jesus del Pozo's now-discontinued In Black. The oud sits in the background of this fragrance as well, and Aswad overall has a much different mood to it. Some may find it a bit heavy, for night, or more for colder weather, but I wear fragrance based on what I'm feeling, not time or season. It is definitely not for the 20's set, as it is way too nuanced to appeal to young noses. The opening is floriental with a bit of fruity undertone- my nose isn't sophisticated enough to pick up on what fruit, exactly. It has the characteristic woodiness that should be there in any perfume that has "oud" in the name. It doesn't last as long as the gold bottle, but the projection is every bit as mighty. When you want to smell like a grown woman but aren't going for the edible, gourmand component, wear the Aswad. I wear the gold bottle more frequently, but when I'm feeling the black bottle, I can't stop smelling myself with that one on either. They are different, but equally worthy, additions to any fan of ouds. No idea how either of these wear on men, I can only speak from my own standpoint. A good fragrance is a good fragrance no matter who wears it, in my opinion.

I love this perfume. As soon as I sprayed it, it reminded me of Jergens almond lotion. For me, it’s a soft marzipan scent. Mostly like a thick almond lotion scent. Dry down has a baby powder scent. It’s not as strong as I imagined. My husband said it smells like a scented kitchen trash bag 😂 Long lasting. Can still smell the next day. Projection is medium & I spray a lot. 9/10.

Its very strong gave it 3 sprays n felt like I was suffocating.. I love it tho for some reason I was expecting more vanilla or more gourmand but I smell a lot of oud I wanted it to be sweeter but its okay

Oh My God. This is one of the best perfume I have ever had. The Color of the bottle is exactly as described. The Scent is Sweet, Soft and strong at the same time, the perfect balance. It lasts 8 hours max on my skin. Please give it a try !

I'm not very versed on perfumes BUT it's my first Oud and the bottle is beautiful the scent is lasting allll day! Justa few sprays on the hot spots and your on your way to feel like a million bucks! Excellent for the fall/winter 🔥 12/12/25 Update! I've been wearing it everyday and it's opening up nicely...i work outside and I spray the hot spots and a little on clothes, DAMMM!!! THIS is giving me an Arua of smoky vanilla with the smokey oud... through the cold Air it slithers through giving pleasant scents of vanilla alllll day wow... Definitely a crowd pleaser!!! UPDATE FEBRUARY 7,2026! JUST ORDERED, TONKA,this has been on my list for a few months But because of so many Good reviews on Tonka I pulled the trigger. NOW upon opening it right out the box without spraying it i held the bottle to my nose and immediately could smell BABY powder! Without spraying it showing how potent this is then a spray on 2 hot spots the left and right inner wrist. It's strong Almond!!! With lotion scent 😄 opened at 7pm and lasted till morning! So I'm patient with these fragrances, that's why you have to buy several different fragrances to let maceration begin on one while wearing another that's matured!! I know I know why wait for a fragrances to "Cook" ,I just finally bought it and STILL have to wait to wear it🤷🏼 hey that's how these middle eastern fragrances work BUT the results are incredible!! Once you start rotating fragrances they start doing justice!!! So I'm spraying Tonka every now and then at the house until it's Ready to wear outside! Stay tuned. ALSO SWISS ARABIAN SHAGHAF oud ABYAD!!! Came in today, bought this one because it's RECOMMENDED if your a Cigar Smoker! It's supposed to still preform while smoking cigars!!! That's what I'm talking about🫡

I think it does have a good smell to it, but I was not very big fan of it so I gave it to one of my cousins. It kind of had a little bit of tobacco scent and I did not like it. But the other two perfume that I have got Swiss Rose and Rituals of Anfar are my favorite.

I bought this perfume while in Dubai and loved it so much that I purchased another from Amazon. This one smells sweeter and is not as strong.

The swiss Arabian shagaf oud is a very pleased and divine perfume indeed the scent is pretty strong it giving dark feminine energy

Disappointed after spraying it first, due to no lasting power. However, after leaving it to ripe for a couple of weeks, the performance is much better. No beast mode but really good performance and appropriate for any occasion. If you like Elie Saab Le Parfum or Narciso Rodriguez For Her you'll definitely love this one and you can't go wrong for the price. This is not a copy of neither but in the same fragrance range, a bit more fruity and lighter.

This is my absolute favorite gourmand perfume! I love this perfume so much that I've bought another 2 bottles. I know it's not for everyone but on my skin, it's perfect. In winter/fall season, it's perfect as is. But during summer, I layer it with Lattafa Victoria to make it more wearable. I always get compliments whenever I wear this perfume by my friends and strangers. For me, the opening smells like brewing cardamom and Arabic coffee on a bonfire. After a few mins, you start to smell the vanilla and toffee. And after a few hours, it has a lingering scent of a milky coconut even if it doesn't have coconut in its notes. Anyway, like I said, this is now a staple in my perfume collection and I'm so happy I was able to get a really good deal on it here.
