Music of the Spheres – Japanese Mezzo, Small-Medium Handcrafted Wind Chime, Precision Tuned, Weather-resistant Unique Outdoor Wind Chimes, 38"

I’ve wanted this wind chime for years, but I never had an outdoor space for it. So when I bought a condo in December with a large front patio, this was the first purchase I made for my new home. It is even better than I expected, worth every penny. The sound it produces is beautiful and pure, even in the still air, when the striker barely makes contact with the tubes, and the sound is almost a vibration rather than a musical note. In high wind, when the chime is louder, the soothing, melodic tone is maintained. It never thunks or clangs the way cheap “chimes” do. The craftsmanship is superb. You can tell immediately that it is high quality and sturdily constructed. I love that you can remove the sail when you don’t want the chimes to play (during storms, windy nights, etc) instead of having to take the whole wind chime down. It is such a delight, I can’t wait to get another one in a different size to complement it!

I hesitated at shelling out the money for these since I had not heard them, and obviously there are cheaper wind chimes. We have the mezzo with the Japanese scale. The videos others posted were helpful. However, we now have them hanging, and they sound fantastic. The tones are clear and perfectly tuned. The sail is big enough that it does not take huge wind to have music. It fills our yard with calming tones. They are neither too loud or too quiet. They were well packaged with helpful information from the company in the box. Finally, they look excellent as well. If you want to have some well-made beautiful wind chimes, and can afford to splurge a little, I would highly recommend these.

I heard my first Music of the Spheres wind chime at a garden store and fell in love. Those pure tones got in my ear and head, and I kept remembering the melodious and welcoming sounds, dreaming of them on my patio. They really do sound unlike any other wind chime. So soothing and elegant. I love that you can get different tunings in different voicings. You can also combine them to have a veritable symphony in your garden; maybe put a mezzo or tenor chime further away and a soprano chime closer to the patio. It's all up to you. The last one I bought was for a friend whose mother had just passed; I couldn't think of a more fitting remembrance than to listen to the sound of the chimes gently singing in the breezes. I also gave one as a wedding gift and it was her favorite present--just "kinda" more memorable than anther toaster! Durable too: I have mine outside year-round in the hot Tucson summers and cold winters (it can get in the teens at night) and it's still swinging like a champ. You can take off the thingie at the bottom if it's too loud in the wind or your neighbors are close by. Yes, these are a bit more expensive than other chimes but so worth it. Perfect gift. For a loved one. For yourself.

I had purchased a set of these for myself at the Japanese gardens in Portland – have enjoyed them for years, and when my best friend mentioned wanting some wind chimes, I immediately thought of these. Very high-quality construction, the musical tone is impeccable, and I know she will enjoy their soothing tones for years to come.

The length is misleading in the description... that is "36 inches over-all" length when hanged not tube length. Although the sound is "tuned" and quite excellent plus they are of great quality, the tubes are short and the sound is high pitched IE: clangy! I waited too long to return them. 30 days!

Sounds beautiful and soothing. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. It arrived when promised, was packed with care (without excessive or non-recyclable materials... Thank you!). The chimes work well and fiction easily in even a gentle breeze too. My only suggestion would be that a more secure method for attaching the bells top the frame be used. For an item that's manufactured with such attention to detail and quality, it seems the only misstep. It's not that my chimes are broken or failing, it's just that (for the price) using something more study would seem more consistent with the overall level of quality and design of the rest of the unit. Ultimately, a wonderful gift for yourself or someone you love. You w ing regret getting them.

I ordered the Mezzo chime with Japanese tuning as a Mother’s Day gift. I listened to the chimes at the company’s website to choose the tuning. The package arrived quickly, even a day sooner that originally expected and before Mother’s Day. The wind chime is beautifully made and sounds enchanting. Mom is very happy with it. I am also glad to support a small American business. I definitely recommend Music of the Spheres chimes and will order from them again if I want another wind chime.

As a musician I enjoy good tone. These chimes are amazing. Not just something to rattle in the wind, but actual musical chimes. They are well worth the money. They are a companion to another set that have been in the wind for over 8 years.
